10 downloads.

Once I reach double digits I'm closing the handbook for comments.

However, I think I'm going to break from tradition and make a Web Page version of this, as well as a Downloadable copy added to the EVD. Frankly, I found requests for an Erudite handbook dating back almost 10 years. It's about time someone made something that showed up on Google that was actually useful.

Again, LAST CHANCE FOR REQUESTS FOR CHANGES/ADDITIONS/CORRECTIONS/COMMENTS

From page 13
Quote

Psion ACFs
The psion comes with a wide number of ACFs. The ardent is not a class in and of itself, but a variant of the psion. Technically, by RAW, that means that any ACF that a psion can take can be used by a Erudite. Now, clearly the RAI is that the following ACFs were never intended for the Erudite. But none of the following ACFs have any limitations that keep you from using them with the Erudite. As long as you meet the requirements, you can take them. Check with your DM first.
So far so good.  Back to reading.

Ok, I've gone over everything and the ardent typo was the only thing that stood out.  The only addition I could think of is that with a conservative ruling on unique powers per day, Erudite is just a Psion with a free Psicrystal and inexpensive learned powers (XPH, 64) while having fewer potential powers a day than a frelling Wilder.  Its no wonder the class went unnoticed till the StP ACF.

Otherwise, detailed work as always.  :thumb

Cap, the issue for rolling a 1 on UMD/UPD checks is it prevents use for 1 day, not until next level.

Otherwise there are no repercussions for rolling a 1.  It is not an automatic failure since only attack rolls and save rolls are like that.  Skill rolls are exempt from the nat1=fail and nat20=success rules.  This can be verified at http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/usingSkills.htm.

Hrmm... You know, i guess I had it in my head it was a Class Feature, not a skill check. You are correct.

However, if you fail, you cannot use it again until the next time you gain more levels in the skill.

Quote
If the check fails, the erudite cannot understand, manifest, or learn the power. He cannot attempt to manifest or learn it again, even if he studies it from another source, until he gains another rank in Psicraft.

That's fairly clear to me. You screw up, you cannot use that specific spell/power again until next level. Or... if your DM allows you to save skillpoints to spend, you could save a few skillpoints to spend in an emergency, I guess.

Although I should add a note about Master Dorje. That would allow you to use any Dorje of any psionic power ever. An excellent way to expand your list of available powers.
