So, retreading some of my old files and better organizing them. If you have any ideas, or can point me in the direction of any web pages that discuss aberrant feats, please let me know.

Here's the link to the article where Aberrant Dragonmarked was declared as an aberrant feat: http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebee/20050704a

Did they ever settle if the DM feats that require Aberrant DM as a prereq are also aberrant feats?

I haven't seen any rulings either way, but it certainly would be interesting to combine the concepts even more.

So...

Quote from: MONSTROUS FEATS
Only creatures with a monstrous form or one or more
monstrous abilities may select these feats. Monstrous forms
and abilities are those that are unavailable to normal
humanoid or animal creatures, including but not limited to
extra appendages, nonstandard appendages (such as tentacles
or a tail), supernatural abilities, and spell-like abilities. With
your DM’s permission, you may be able to choose monstrous
feats for your character if your character acquired unusual
abilities through transformation or by advancing in a prestige
class.

Can we all agree that if you take an aberrant feat (especially the tail from Aberrant Blood) that you qualify for monstrous feats?

I can see two schools of thought with it.  The unrestricted one is if a character qualifies for the feat then there's really no reason they can't take it even if it's labeled as monstrous.  The restricted one is monstrous ones are like that for a reason and the character usually has to do a bit more than simply qualify for them.

Personally, I'm in the former camp.  I certainly see it as in the spirit of the rules that an aberrant feat would work fine for monstrous feats.

Lenient DM ... If 2nd sentence then Yes.
Less Lenient DM ... if second half of 3rd sentence then DM permission then Yes permission
Least Lenient DM ... inspite of second half of 3rd sentence then DM permission still equals No

The DM has to be deliberately excluding, for No to happen.

Dmark Fist + that old semi-TO setup that gives unlimited action points = always maximized unarmed strike
... a little extravagant, but perhaps do-able.  Maybe the Rage version is more thematic.

Pyrokineticist 5th level ability, Nimbus, bumps up Cha. Maybe useful in a build focused on Dragonmarks? And if you go to 6th you can use the PP from warped mind to pay for firewalk and for entry into the PrC.
