Ability Rip to make a Dryad playable?
« on: November 26, 2011, 06:02:00 PM »
I'm away from my books at the moment, but had an idea while looking over the Dryad's stats.  Can the spell Ability Rip be used to remove the Dryad's Supernatural tree dependency?

Don't know that spell, but are you aware of the Acorn of Far Travel spell? http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fw/20040710a

"Dryads gain an additional benefit from this spell. If a dryad spellcaster casts this spell on an acorn harvested from her bonded oak tree, she is considered to be in contact with her tree at all times, despite the actual distance between her and the tree. A dryad spellcaster can thus use this spell to travel great distances from her tree without growing sick."

Also, there are ways to carry a tree around with you. I'm currently playing a dryad in an IRC game who lives in a livewoodECS tree... and uses it as a weapon. During character creation, the idea of bonsai trees also came up.
