Syfo, my aquatic elf wizard has died. RIP. You fall from a tower while flyng, we will always remember you.
Anyway, time to do another character. Me and my friends are playing Rise of the Runelords, they just killed Xanesa in a certain tower from where wizards fall after being struck by spells... We are level 7 and the group consists of: a Hunter specialized in archery, a Magus with high AC and buff spells and an Inquisitor of Pharasma, who fights with a massive great sword and intimidates the shit out of everything. The only high optimized character (besides the one that died) is the inquisitor. The Magus is quite useful tanking and buffing, and the hunter's pet does its job. The Hunter does alot of damage when he strikes, which is not oftne, but whatever. I've decided to play a Human Bard, more specifically a Dirge bard, after the summoner was banned
He will be a controller and buffer , using enchantments and necromancy spells all the way.
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/bard/archetypes/paizo---bard-archetypes/dirge-bardWe are using a 15 point build, so I thing my states will look something like this:
Str 7 Dex 12 Con 12 Int 10 Wis 8 Char 18 (21 after human bonus and 4th level bonus)
Str 7 Dex 14 Con 12 Int 10 Wis 9 Char 17 (20)
Str 7 Dex 14 Con 14 Int 10 Wis 9 Char 16 (19)
I know I should do the second or the third option, but I've got a certain fetish for maxing the spellcasting ability.
For feats, I struggle between going eldritch heritage or Master Performer and Grand Master Performer (which my DM has allowed):
http://www.archivesofnethys.com/FeatDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Master%20Performerhttp://www.archivesofnethys.com/FeatDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Grand%20Master%20PerformerAnd in case of taking the EH path, I'm torn between Arcane (familiar, extra spells and +2 to DC to a certain school, all of it is niiiiice) and Infernal or Undead for flavor (Undead has got more flavor, but Infernal is very similar and has got fly, but it will not come 'till 17th level, so I'm not sure is worth it). Also, I take Leadership and I will probably get a Wizard or a Witch for item crafting (since Syfo is gone, far from the sea where he belongs), but maybe there is a better option (?). Anyway, the feats (Eldritch Heritage/Master performer:
H: Improved Initiative
1: Skill Focus / Extra performance (requisites)
3: Eldritch Heritage/Master Performer
5: Spell Song (I really like the flavor, maybe lingering performance is better, and getting Lingering Performance later is probably a waste of a feat, but I dont know, thoughts?)
7: Leadership
9: Improved Familiar/Grand Master Performer
11: Greater Eldritch Heritage/Spell penetration
13: Spell Penetration/ Extra Arcana?
Finally, for the extra necromancy spells from arcane lists due to "Secrets of the grave" (Dirge Bard thingy) I'll get:
2nd level: Ray of enfeeblement
6th level: Command Undead (I have seen that this is not necessary because a Dirge Bard can affect undead with enchantment spells, but they do not count as humanoids and though a bard gets charm monster, it does as a 3rd level spell and does not get the more appropiate dominate monster, I just think that the effectiveness of Command Undead is superior).
10th level: Dont know, ray of exhaustion, bestow curse and vampiric touch are all great spells.
The next two come later, but they will be enervation and animate undead, in any order.
Other spells I'll get for sure (just to name a few, I'm still working on this, any suggestion is wellcomed, of course, if not I won't be writting this, duh):
Cacophonous call, heroism, hold person, invisibility, miserable pitty, pilfering hand (if I get bestow curse), steal breath, arcane concordance, charm monster, confusion, dispel magic, fear, haste, exquisite accompaniment, phantom steed, terrible remorse.
Is suggestion worth it?
Thank you in advance for your help.
