Spell Weaver's Chromatic Disk: Unlimited source of explosions?

Only a spell weaver can utilize a chromatic disk. Should any other creature pick one up and try to tap its energy(by employing the Use Magic Device skill, for instance), it explodes, dealing 4d10 points of damage to everything within a 30-foot radius.

Some members of the group say that it destroys itself as an implicit part of exploding. Others point to the fact that it's explicitly indestructible ("6-inch-diameter indestructible disk") and argue that it remains intact and reusable for this purpose.



Side-note: Can a spellweaver lich use the disk as a phylactery? I don't see why not.

The group in question is considering a campaign of all spellweavers, starting at level 10 (as base spellweavers, with their own feats/skills/etc). I suspect it's going to be a very silly game.

What does the GM say/want?

We don't really have a GM at this point. It usually defaults to me when we NEED one, but we pretty much run things by group decisions and a strong anti-metagaming culture.

Well no DM? How about ruling in the middle ground, part of the disk explodes when someone uses it until it runs out of power forcing the Spell Weaver to create another one at a midnight hour. That should also keep the PCs from asking  what kind of bonus do they get if they glue an invincible disk to their armor.
