Proficiencies: The Thorn is proficient with simple and martial weapons plus Light Armor and Bucklers.
Features:Thorn Body: The Thorn loses all other racial bonuses and gains Fey traits (basicaly low-light vision). Thorns are small sized fey with a base speed of 20 feet and a natural armor bonus equal to their Con mod.
Sneak Attack
Green Gear: The Thorn know the art of of carefully cultivating plants to fashion them into both weapons and armor. With 1d12 days of work in a forested area or garden, the Thorn can create a weapon he's proficient with made of thorns, plus a set of armor made of leaves that works as leather armor and a buckler. Those items count as masterwork quality but are only any good in the hands of the Thorn that cultivated them. They're immune to effects that affect metal but vulnerable to anything that would hurt plant matter. At campaign start the Thorn can choose to start with a weapon, armor and buckler created by Green Gear already done.
Sleep Arrow: Although thorns have considerably less magic than other fey, they can still pull a few tricks. If he's carrying a bow, as a fullround action the Thorn can launch an arrow that forces a struck victim to make a Fortitude save with DC 10+ HD+Con mod or be affected as though by a Sleep spell with no HD cap.
Guardian Hide: At 2nd level the Thorn gains DR/Cold Iron equal to 2+1/2 HD.
Sneak Attack: At 2nd level the Thorn gains +1d6 Sneak Attack as the rogue ability. At 4th level this increases to +2d6. This stacks with sneak attack gained from other sources.
Sneaky Shooter: At 3rd level the Thorn can use Sleep Arrow as an attack action. If all levels were taken, at 8 HD the Thorn's sleep arrows can affect even creatures normally immune to it, but such opponents gain a +5 bonus on their saves.
Gaia's Guardian: At 3rd level other fey and plants within 20 feet of the Thorn gain 1+1/3 HD Sacred bonus to AC and saves.
Living Gear: At 4th level when the Thorn hits an opponent in melee with Green Gear, thorns shoot out of the weapon, Entangling the victim and dealing them 1 point of damage for each 5 feet they move or whenever they attack or cast a spell. Breaking free takes a move action plus succeeding on a Escape Artist or Str check with DC 10+ HD+Str mod. Multiple hits on the same victim don't stack.
Surprisingly simple for a fey, I really overlooked this one.
Basically fairy soldier. No wings or special powers besides sneak attack and sleep arrows. Ironically, despite being called thorns for their hippie swords, they don't really gain any advantage for using them, so that's why I added the capstone.
So if you want to play a fey guard, the Thorn's for you!
