Hmm.. this guy won't be capable of playing half the characters suggested in this thread, which is unfortunate because there sure is a lot of otherwise great suggestions here.

I showed this thread to our DM, and he immediately banned monstrous races and ghosts :-p I kind of understand why though, the player in question loathes to RP, and being a troll or a ghost sort of requires a player to RP his way out of potentially sticky situations involving peasants, torches and pitchforks. Also, feats like VoP would require him to stick to an alignment that is not CN, which he cant, so thats a no go. I know that Dwarven Defender is a lawful only class, but at least there is no penalties for failing to follow his alignment.

About the treasure distribution, the other players felt that an expensive weapon would help him contribute more to the party. I was the only one against throwing money in his direction, and thus they proceeded to buy the bow without my consent. But hey, what do I care, Im the druid.

Anyway, we are sticking with the dwarf for now.

Dwarven chaos monk/lion totem barbarian? He'll only have two useful class abilities that aren't always on (rage and flailing strike), and the second is easy enough to do, and he'll be able to pounce-charge and all he really needs is Str/Con/Wis.

A ghost with the Human Heritage and Ghostly Grasp feats is in every way a human, except he can pass through solid objects when he wants to.

The dwarven defender for now, yes, but with some Deepwarden for more con synergy.

The guys ranger survived last session by a stroke of luck, and if the cleric hadn't gone out of his way to save him the dwarven defender would already have been in game :-( Thanks to this thread, there was a lot of talk about ghosts around the table though, and the player in question actually liked the idea of having his  ranger rise as a ghost in case of death, but the DM set his foot down when the ranger tried to upgrade his bow with the ghost touch ability. "There is no way in hell that I am going to allow any of you to play ghosts. There will be no incorporal PCs in this campaign!" he said, hinting that there will be some point in the campaign where incorporal creatures will be a pain to handle.

Thanks for your input guys!

Pfft, so again the problem player disrupts the game for everyone else. Now no one may have a Ghost Touch weapon?

If his current characacter doesn't work out, here's a simpler version of a character I'm playing, which is a lot of fun:

Dwarf Monk2/Ranger3/Fighter5/Horizon Walker 10
Max out CON. Then go for DEX, then STR. Take a few Improved Toughness feats. Take Quicken Spell-Like-Ability two or three times, for the dimension door power. Take the Two Weapon Fighting chain.

With some enchanted gauntlets, this character can do enough damage not to feel useless. With Perfect TWF (if your DM says it doubles flurry), it can hit ten times per round, which makes it feel more powerful. It also has some fun, but relatively easy to use ablities:

- Track - being the party tracker makes you feel useful out of combat.
- Travel - shifting around like a madman, your overland speed is 30-60MpH, depending on level.
- Combat maneuverability - With Quickened SLA, you can be the first one to hit the enemy.
- Stunning Fist, for when the player remembers to use it.
- Tremmorsense is always fun.

Defense
- Improved Toughness and maxed CON make for a lot of HP.
- High saves from Monk and multiclassing (get a Crystal Mask of Mindarmor for will saves).
- Reasonably high AC from Monk and high DEX. Maybe not enough to make this player feel comfortable.

Nah, Im quite sure that we can do it as we please, but not as long as we are doing it with the purpose of becoming ghost warriors :-p The guy has a list of stuff that he is not allowed to buy, mostly because we are tired of explaining how they work, or because his english skills lead him to believe that the items in question does something very different from what they actually do.

If the guy was an asshole in person he would be a lot easier to boot, but the 'problem' is that he is not. He just happens to play a different game than the rest of us.

This sounds like another job for explosions. Transdimensional explosions.
