These days on nearly any forum I go by MisterBananas, an old gamer tag from UT2k4. I had a habit of killing people with a smile: Predicting where they were going then lobbing the Flak Cannon alt-fire for headshots. The smiley face on the shell was the last thing most of them saw before respawn.
I'm part of a gaming group in southeast Louisiana that's currently on hiatus for various reasons, though we may be picking up our games again shortly. Alternating between a heavily modified game of
Orpheus that I run (which got cut off in the middle of an encounter) and our original DM's also heavily modified 3.5 game that we started, I think, in '08 (also cut off mid encounter.) Regardless of the game, system, or ST/DM our group employs "Rule of Cool" at all times. The cooler, more entertaining, or more interesting something is the more likely it is to succeed.
Systems I'm familiar with: oWoD, nWoD, Exalted (1st Ed and 2nd), Warhammer Fantasy, D&D (2nd Ed, 3.x, reading up on 4th), StarWars Revised.
When I design a character I almost always go for some sort of style and focus on that more than the actual power level or what "tier" it might be considered. Done right nearly any class or character type can step beyond its supposed limits, all it takes is approaching it from a different angle.
Also, just about done a grimdark scifi fan supplement to Exalted (alternate future). I've heard others have been done, horribly, but can't find them to know what in particular
not to do.
