Veekie
« on: March 03, 2012, 02:40:12 PM »
So I was trawling through my new reply posts on the old dead boards and I come across this thread where kevin_video was talking about his campaign and veekie replied with some suggestions, and this one bit caught my eye.

Quote from: veekie
-Cut them off. The mercane? Blow it up. Without contacts, they cannot trade favorably for goods.

Specifically;

Quote from: veekie
Blow it up.

And then it struck me that every single time I go to some advice thread on this place, or the old place, veekie is always there giving solid, doable, inspirational and interesting advice to every single shambolic DM who shows up lost and lonely with players wielding +5 vorpal dragons or refusing to name their characters for fear of 'the roleplaying'.

So i'd just like to show my appreciation and respect for that level of intelligence and dependability, by saying, on behalf of all clueless noobs,
THANK YOU VEEKIE, YOU'RE PRETTY AWESOME

Well, sometimes what you need is a little explosions :D

Mostly the players provide the explosions. A lot of explosions.

Apparently a lot of people agree with you.  Have you seen his recognition score?

recognition isn't the same as thinking someone is awesome. It's more along the lines of going 'thanks'.  Not a bad thing, but not, I would say, the same thing.

Anyway, I just wrote that because I was struck by it at the time.  Plus I enjoy speaking on behalf of clueless noobs.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, but did you have to put it in Comic Sans? My poor eyes. :<

Actually, I did spare a thought to poor font geeks but I do like comic sans myself, for big words.  I guess i'm just atypical in that department.

Well, that, and he's also so damn civil and approachable. That really helps for getting your point across to a lot of people.
