Getting Spellcasting on a Swifthunter
« on: April 10, 2012, 11:02:13 AM »
Okay, I have a Swifthunter Scout5/Ranger1 character that RP/story circumstances are leading him into being interested in magics.

I've started looking through to see if there are any great PRC's that could be used to add some casting into the mix.

I'd prefer to use something that lends itself to Fey/nature type theme and/or Shadow magics.

Mystic Ranger (Dr366) might be an option I'll have to discuss with the DM.

Beguiler followed on by an appropriately themed caster progression prc could also work.

He is non-neutral in alignment so Druid isn't much of an option.

I'm looking more to a gish sort of casting over being a god caster.

Any suggestions for Prc or classes

Nentyar Hunter.  It's like a mystic ranger in 5 levels.

Great one, thanks.  That's probably about as close as I'll get without coming up with something homebrewed.

Shooting Star gives you a bonus to casting. Sword of the Arcane Order lets you cast wizard spells in ranger slots.

If you are ok with psionics then war mind gets you some nice perks and psionic warrior powers are quite nice for a swifthunter. (hustle anyone?)

There is that fast progression arcane caster in some campaign setting that I have seen linked to a few times. (Ex clerics of some city ruler who become shadow plane natives when they complete the prestige class.)

Anyway, take that for one level then PrC into Unseen Seer to progress skirmish.
