Eternal Wands

What makes any eternal wand attractive?  2/day seems a tad limiting especially for a standard action to activate.

Because there are a lot of spells that aren't worth wasting a prepared slot on, or certainly aren't worth a spell known slot on (for bards, sorcerers, duskblades, etc.).  And typically 2/day is enough for the utility spells you might need.  Knock isn't worth it usually, but in an eternal wand?  Works great.

Spells that you imagine needing fairly often over the course of an adventuring career, but do not want to commit a spell slot on. See Invisible could also be one, as could Nerveskitter (although you probably won't mind also using spell slots on that)

They're useful assuming you're playing in a long campaign where you could easily burn through more than 50 charges on a wand.  And while the 0 and 1st level wands are more expensive than a traditional wand, the 2nd and 3rd level ones are cheaper.  No idea why there are 4th level wands but no 4th level eternal wands.

The other appeal is that you can use eternal wands just by being an arcanist.  Not every arcane caster (say, a duskblade) necessarily has use magic device, so error-free use is a huge plus to them.  Even the ones that have UMD, it's mid levels before that's impossible to fail the DC.
