Creepy Psion

Hey all,

it is time for me to create a backup character and I thought, that this time it should be something less frontline-y

Since we had our fair share of mages and sorcerers I thought a psion would be a semi fresh wind.

My character idea is:
Human Shaper who was abandoned by his parents as a child because of his abilities. He compensated by forming friends and new parents using the astral construct power. Now hes 16 and wouldnt you know it, it kind of screwed him up.
Talking about "mommy and daddy" being on another plane and hugging them when he calls on them to bring him to bed.
Stuff like that.

We use 28-Points buy:
Str: 08
Dex: 10
con: 16
Int: 16
Wis: 14
Cha: 08

Since I dont really want to roll te big damagenumbers, but want to be useful otherwise I went with the following powers:
Power/Level:
1. Astral Contruct (Offense, Defense, Trap finding, battlefield control, Fluff), Vigor (Defense), Crystal shard (Offense)
2. Minor creation, psionic (Utility, Gold gain?), entangling ectoplasm (battlefield control)
3. Ego Whip (Save or die/suck), knock, psionic (utility)
4. Energy adaptation, specified (Defense), Inertial Armor (Defense)
5. Ectoplasmic Cocoon (Battlefield Control), Time Hop (Utility)
6. Energy Bolt (Offense, Utility), Telekinetic Force (Ulitity, Fluff)



Regarding feats I am very unsure (Except "Boost construct" and "Personal Construct")
Feats:
1. H: Boost Construct P: Empower Power N: Overchannel
3. Extend Power
5. Personal Construct
6. Psionic meditation

We never had a psion as an PC or NPC, so I think my DM wont be pumping them out soon.

I dont know what skills to take or if any of my choices s far is a bad one.
If you have any ideas towards fluffing it up or making it more rounded I would greatly appreciate it.
Also I'm having trouble with "psionic minor creation". To me it sounds like I could make a fortune using this to create expensive poisons/fruits or some stuff like that. I would of course have to be quick out of town again since it doesnt last too long. But do you need a material component for it or not? SRD says "As minor creation" which need a tiny bit of what you want to create. ut I read somewhere that psionics never need material components. So confusion

Mostly, pisonic minor creation is used to spawn a massive puddle of black lotus on someone, or macgvyver up a solution to something you didn't anticipate.

As far as Astral Construct goes, if you don;t use the Cpsi nerfs, making Psionic power armor is fun.

Is Hyperconscious an available source? If so I think that Dreamkeeper is a good choice for creepy themed Shaper - Midnight Brood = Astral Constructs made from the stuff of dreams/nightmares instead the astral plane.  It also adds reasonable choices to the Construct menu and is a decent overall choice.

If Hyperconcious is available, he should go with Psianimate Dead.  Maybe he really does call upon his dead parents to tuck him in at night.

Since you've already got Vigor on your list, I'd suggest taking Psicrystal Affinity and Share Pain. Send half the damage you take to your little crystalline buddy, and share your Vigor with it to get twice the bang for your buck from it.

Synchronicity + the feat Linked Power (both from Complete Psionic) make an excellent way to get extra actions.

+1 on psionic minor creation.  Gallons of Black Lotus Extract at L1?  Woo!

Shapers are powerful.  Just get creative with Astral Constructs and minor creation.
