Losing your head

1 A fighter gets polymorphed into a hydra.
2 During a fight, someone uses sunder on the hydra, lopping off two of its six heads.
3 The spell ends and the fighter returns to human shape.
4 ?

He's perfectly fine, as long as he still had one head left. (And if he didn't, he would have been dead before the spell ended. :P )

Isn't it implied somewhere that someone who polymorph also get healed in the process of reforging his new (next) body?

I'd say it simply get evened out and nothing happen.
