Some questions about fighters: (DND3.5)

I'll just jump right in:
First, are there any good ways to focus on using Improvised Weapons? As in, any ways that don't require Monk entry (Drunken Master...)
Second,
The Fighter's Handbook
has some good information in it, but nothing about prestige classes. Since Fighter is a class that one usually wants to get out of as soon as possible, can someone on the board point me to some good ones?

A Barbarian with the City Brawler ACF (DR 349) will do the trick. They even qualify for Drunken Master.

Fighter works with about 90% of all the melee PRCs out there, thing is you pretty much never want more than 2 levels of fighter anyway so you could take that barbarian dip and go into their PRCs too...
