Unfortunately it seems that this is just how play by posts are..... Long periods of nothing happening with it taking months to get out of a single dungeon room(for example).

Trying to come up with ideas on how to make play by posts as a whole work better and progress more quickly and smoothly, but so far my only idea doesn't seem to be very popular.
I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-Kiri rock! I need scissors! 61!

I've been 2 games where you have to post in a certain period of time or be 'dead' or lose

I think phone apps are the way to go. Period. Include a simple die roller, ways to type speech, etc. Would be a huge hit and boon to rp'ers.
I appreciate the logical, cool-headed responses and the lack of profanity displayed by our community.

Kind of like a non-video Skype game with a 3rd party dice roller to prevent cheating.

or for a less time consuming version, just an app that runs whatever games you're in, in different tabs or something

Sorry zook, it's a combination of (a) last year of grad school, so lots of work to write three papers and prep dissertation, and (b) getting ready for baby #2 in a couple weeks.

And just wait til you realize that I'm starting the last year, and don't submit my dissertation until next summer... lol.

VennDygrem might have a use for it, though.

Alternatively, any other Wondrous Item worth up to 1,400 gold.

Or if you prefer, we can work together on item crafting. He's a wizard with Wondrous Items. Market * 0.43125 for actual pricing. However, he is limited to CL 5, so things like gloves of dexterity and gauntlets of ogre power are out, unless you'd also like to pay the surcharge for a wizard to provide the CL. Those particulars have an additional charge of 60 gold. For anything else he makes, it's market * 0.575. So that's...

A&A = Market * 0.575
Etched Runes = Market * 0.575
Potions = Market * 0.575
Scrolls = Market * 0.575
Wands = Market * 0.575
Wondrous Items = Market * 0.43125

I should have bought a bunch of shuriken versions of a luck blade (1 wish) for ~1200 a pop >:-)

Here's a good question. Why didn't you?
[20:32] <DonQuixote> A POX UPON YOU ALL!
[20:32] <DonQuixote> YOU, J, FOR STEALING THE PURITY OF NORNS.
[20:32] <DonQuixote> YOU, DRAMMOR, FOR ENSNARING ME IN THIS FIENDISH PRISON.

Isn't a luck blade a specific weapon rather than an enchantment?

It is, but changing the actual weapon isn't that big a deal. Most DMs would let someone have a battleaxe or flail version. Y not attempt a shuriken version?  :plotting

no different than an assassin's kukri.

I didn't think about it until just now. But by Baator, I'll get one ASAP.

That seems like the kind of thing where a line should be drawn. Cheap enchantments are one thing, cheap wishes are something else entirely. Even cheap rerolls (assuming no wishes) are still quite a bit overboard.
