I'm de Molay, in real life better known as Denis.
I started playing PnP games (DnD 3.5 mostly) about eight years ago. And still do, though not as regularly as I'd like to.
My other gaming activities include quite a lot of MtG and lots of strategy type boardgames (Civilization and around). Due to shortage of time computer games are almost non-existant in my timetable. Nevertheless, sometimes I find an hour or two to play some fantasy-themed rpg or something. That said, my one and true computer game love is for sure the Myst series.
Apart from all that, I'm a mathematician by education, dividing my (limited) time between people around me, differential geometry and boardgaming. Oh, and travelling to the farthest corners of the world. Yep.

Enjoy both GMing and PCing. Know virtually nothing of true optimisation, despite lurking on different boards like BG, GitP for a while (i.e. I know some theory and basic ideas but never done any optimisation all by myself). Prefer flavorful and interesting to play characters over incredibly powerful ones. On the other hand, like my characters to be able to solve most problems on their own. That doesn't mean that I'm bad at teamplay, though. In fact I feel to be pretty decent at that. Just prefer to have a couple of aces up my sleeve.
