Fighter and Assassin builds needed
« on: October 02, 2012, 06:25:43 PM »
Once again I need to stat a bunch of NPCs. (someone else comes up with character concepts and its my job to make them work)

Setting: Dragonlance (access to divine magic still heavily restricted in our time frame)

Builds needed:

1 A female fighter (about level 8) dual wielding daggers. Doesn't have to be a fighter (warblade ?). Anyway, she is meant as a possible replacement to a barbarian/Fist of the forest. - I need some way to have her do respectable damage.

2 I got to recruit a teenager npc, with considerable natural talent (sorcerer 3 already). I need him to become an assassin for me (obviously, doesn't have to be assassin class - my last "assassination" was performed by casting reduce item on a sharp piece of chicken bone) - I need him to be able to enter places, disguise,  talk his way past guards, etc. I don't want him as full sorcerer, because I am not sure of his loyalty and that would make him potentially more dangerous than me one day - But he needs to be good at what he does. How do you suggest I build him up? ( up to level 10)

Look into the daggerspell mage prestige class (Complete Adventurer). She won't be very powerful, though, and definitively not a tank but will deal good damage and will have spells for utility

That is one way to approach it.

Also, scratch question two. I don't know how these slavers got him but the kid is a freaking weretiger...  :banghead

Lion Totem Barbarian 1/Hit and Run Fighter 1/Warblade 2/Swordsage 1/Warblade 3 focusing on tiger claw.

For 6 more maneuvers and a stance and access to Assasin's Stance later and Shadow Blade feat NOW for Dex to damage as you ARE using the disciples favorite weapon. :)

Edit: Cloak of Deception and Shadow Jaunt are pretty great on a melee character. :D

You'll probably want to adjust some spells, like replacing Wall of Force with Baleful Polymorph.

For the fighter,

Lion Totem Barbarian 1/Hit and Run Fighter 1/Warblade 2/Swordsage 1/Warblade 3 focusing on tiger claw.
You need a Swordsage IL of 5 to get Assassin's Stance

Whirling Frenzy Lion Spiritual Totem Barbarian 1/Hit and Run Fighter 1/Warblade 4/ Swordsage 2/ Warblade 1
This gets you gets you Assassin's Stance and Wis to AC in light armor.

2. For the Sorcerer look into maybe taking 2 levels of Rogue and then going into Unseen Seer. A level of Mindbender with the feat Mindsight might be nice too.

The original post suggested level 8, so I was aiming for that.  Your build suggestion works great for level 9 though.
