Uses for the distracting ember manuver
« on: September 16, 2012, 08:05:20 PM »
The distracting ember manuver from tome of battle pg.52 is very interesting in that in actually summons a creature. Can anyone think of cool uses for this (I seem to recall there is also a cloak keyed to this manuver in case you can't spare a level of swordsage)?

The only ones I can think of are using the elemental to power the necrocarnate and sacrificing it using the sacrifice rules in the BOVD.
Please, call me Count :).

I hate how the fluff text talks about it helping other people flank, but the actual rules are that it lasts till the end of your turn, rather than for 1 round.

Needless to say, I houseruled that.

A level 10 Eternal Blade could grab the benefit of flanking from it. C'mon SoS, they knew what they were doing.
