Bypassing Mind Blank
« on: November 28, 2012, 04:51:03 AM »
Is there anything that trumps Mind Blank, either RAI or RAW?
I'm aware of the discussion going on in the Fun Finds thread about Song of the Dead, that's what sparked this question  ;)
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

If you're not specifically interested in the immunity to mind-affecting effects, metafaculty

There's a power called Shatter Mind Blank. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/shatterMindBlank.htm
Oh, and stinking cloud has to be one of my favorate battlefield spells. Combined with sleet stor, you can shut a group down and keep them shut down, trapped inside a fart. When does that ever get old?

those are the two easiest, there is also the slightly more complicated strategy of using a spotter to bypass the effectiveness of the power. also, it is subject to dispel like anything else.

Do either of those also bypass immunity to [mind effecting]?  I don't think so based on a quick reading of the links, but I wanted to double check.

i don't think the mindblank gets the benefit of immunity to mind affecting.

and yes, metafaculty absolutely does bypass immunity to mind affecting, it functions in a totally different way.

i believe the shatter also is not affected by a immunity to mind affecting, the mind blank is being targeted, not the person.
