[3.P] Bigger weapons, bigger reach
« on: May 08, 2013, 05:28:50 AM »
For every size category a 2-handed weapon is larger than appropriate for its wielder, it gains 5 ft. of additional reach.

What do ya think?
My reasons for making this houserule - common sense dictates that when a weapon is longer, its reach should also be longer. I know there are justifications and explanations why it doesn't, but I don't buy them. Also, it gives people who insist on using bigger weapons, even if it's actually suboptimal, some additional benefit, and feats like Monkey Grip/Lighten Weapon become somewhat better.
Magic is for weaklings.

Alucard: "*snif snif* Huh? Suddenly it reeks of hypocrisy in here. Oh, if it isn't the Catholic Church. And what's this? No little Timmy glued to your crotch. Progress!"

I love it, personally. It only makes sense. Completely retarded for a fellow to be using a 50-foot spiked chain to only hit fellas 10 feet away. Seems almost impossible with things like great swords!
A smile from ear to ear
3.5 is disappointingly flawed.

I did something similar with my Monkey Grip feat. All in all, I support the idea.

Agreed. However I like the manueverability aspect of having fat rather than long larger weapons.

Colossal+ sword in a 10' cave?
