Since throw anything effectively changes melee weapons to thrown weapons, does that mean you are able to have ranged weapon enchants on a melee weapon?

Unfortunately, no.  The weapon is still categorized as a melee weapon and does not have its own range increment, which is what those enchantments look for.  You merely impart a range to it after the fact.

Agreed. Throw Anything doesn't change the weapon, just how you use it.

Use the Throwing property (+1) to get what you're looking for.

Ah ok thanks, if you guys could check out this topic I posted a while back I would appreciate it. I want to see if you agree or disagree with the replies I got from Jackinthegreen and  SorO_Lost about question 2?

http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=9471.msg153072#msg153072

..or just read the question here and leave an answer on either topic.

2) The Bloodstorm 4/Master Thrower 5 has the throw anything feat. Could he apply the Master Throwers tricks to an otherwise normal melee weapon, such as a kukri, as it now has the two defining characteristics of a thrown weapon (range increment and melee weapon, according to the PHB)?

Thanks everyone for the help.

I would agree with them.  The class ability doesn't care where you get the requirements from, only that you have them.

Just to be thorough, what's the difference between the requirements for a ranged weapon enchantment and to qualify for master thrower tricks? Both seem only to require that the weapon be a thrown weapon. I don't disagree with you I'm just not entirely sure on the specifics of these rules.

Ultimately, it comes down to "does this meet the requirements all the time?"  When enchanting a melee weapon with ranged properties, the requirement is only met when wielded by someone with Throw Anything, not when it's being enchanted or when wielded by anyone else.  With the class abilities, the requirements are met by that character all the time.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you :)
