Laoise can feel the leaky field well before Lancer shows her the edge. What she's able to glean from the field is much the same as what Lancer found, with one important addition: While the field is extremely sensitive to any humanlike entity that crosses it, that sensitivity only extends up to a point. Something of a different enough shape or size, like a wild animal, wouldn't alert the field's creator. Where exactly the defining line is, she's not entirely sure, but she could probably tell whether any given thing would trigger the alarm.

Laoise studies the field's emanation with a mixture of curiosity and reservation. Why would one set it up like this? She assumes it's not done yet , but even then, why have the field scan for humans rather than anything with prana? Compared to the benefit of picking up humans without magic circuits, the bypass of simply sending in a familiar seems so obvious that she hesitates to do it for fear of having missed something. She looks at Lancer.
"...This is weird. You could get in with any kind of familiar, or maybe a Servant who can change shapes. What if it's a trap?"

The best way to deal with a trap is to drop someone you don't like into it. Maybe if we set up something to watch who goes in and out.

"Hmm..."
With an uncertain expression, Laoise plucks the flower from her hair. Her spell animates its vines, provoking them to wrap and feel around her hand slowly. Unlike last night at the park, she doesn't bother with growing it, instead simply setting the small plant on the ground and directing it towards the stairs, where it can hide in a tree right next to the bounded field's border.
"It doesn't have eyes, so detecting anything visually would be hard... but I could try to make it cross at the same time someone else does. Since the stairs go uphill, it should be able to keep pace..."

Laoise's familiar takes up position in the tree, lying dormant for the time being. Though she can't see through its eyes - it doesn't have any - she can feel fleeting impressions of the flower's surroundings through the established link and direct its movements.

"Okay..." Leaving the familiar where it is and keeping a metaphorical eye on it, Laoise leads the way to leave the hill the way they came. "Um... If I were Archer... I'd mark out two or three high spots across the city. And move between them, to minimize blind spots. Skyscrapers downtown, the temple if there wasn't anyone already there. Going to the city would take a while..."

By Laoise's estimates, it'll be dark by the time they get to the city proper. That's on foot, of course; Lancer's wheels would be significantly faster, but also significantly more visible.

"The kind of firearm an Archer would use wouldn't leave much in the way of intact corpses. I'd say probably a Master with a gun and likely Rider or a Saber holding back."

Laoise and a dematerialized Lancer make their way back to the city center as the sun's light slips away. Their progress is slightly slowed by Laoise pausing every so often to sprinkle spores into cracks in the asphalt, waiting until the few people still out on the street aren't looking so as not to attract scrutiny. By the time they arrive in the district where the bikers died, a full moon hangs overhead, bathing the quiet side streets in a cold light.

Master and Servant end up at the intersection between two alleyways. Caution tape gently swaying in the frigid breeze marks the entrance to the larger of the two, a back passage between office buildings long enough to span an entire city block and wide enough that a road could run down the center. In contrast, the alleyway where Laoise stands is barely wide enough to accommodate both her and Lancer if they were to stand side by side.

Though the large alley is roped off and a police motorcycle leans against one of the towering buildings, it looks as though the police have been done for quite some time. Not a single body is to be found, and the pavement has already been sprayed clean with a pressure washer, in stark contrast to the grime and graffiti on the buildings. The alley looks utterly abandoned, otherwise - all the office windows facing inward are covered, some have even been boarded up, and on closer inspection the motorcycle's tires are slashed.

First things first, Laoise gets out a pack of tissues and stuffs her hair into her sweater. It's not exactly comfortable, but she can't afford to take risks, much less when the police is involved too. The alleyway getting cleaned is inconvenient, but she crosses the tape anyway, scouring the crime scene and its surroundings for anything the police might have missed - or not given due importance to, lacking the context she has.

FP on Quiet Observer makes that a 4.

Lancer materializes, inspects the motorcycle, and seemingly satisfied....he ups and picks it up with one hand, carrying it underarm like a bicycle.

Lancer scoops up the motorcycle easily. A faint sloshing from inside the gas tank tells him there's still fuel left.

Meanwhile, Laoise pores over the crime scene, discovering that although the pavement has been washed clean, the walls still have a few secrets left. Faint char marks and fresh abrasions from shrapnel suggest that there was a small explosion here recently. She also notes tiny holes, scattered irregularly and far apart across the ground and occasionally the sides of the office buildings. They have perfectly round openings and narrow to a point at their far ends, as though someone had gouged perfect conical sections out of the pavement and walls. Judging by the concrete dust packed into the bottoms, however, they were made by something ramming the pavement at high speeds. Whatever made them, it certainly wasn't a bullet.

"There was an explosions here... and these," Laoise hunkers down to inspect the marks in the ground, "They don't look like bullet holes... a vehicle? Maybe you were right about Rider..." She looks up at Lancer to ask him for his opinion, only to see him carrying the broken motorcycle. "...What are you doing?"

"Equipment. " He has the kind of grin that Laoise knows from experience would probably result in her losing more hair from some crazy stunt, "We're expecting Rider aren't we?"

Laoise frowns in one part confusion and two parts concerned anticipation. "You can't drive that.  The tires are slashed!"

Laoise isn't entirely sure she's got it right, but as best as she can tell, the strange marks are from some sort of weapon like a lance, spear, or javelin. If that's the case though, whatever was driving it must have had some incredible force behind it to slam it repeatedly into concrete and make such perfect holes...

Though highly worried, Laoise lets it fly and turns instead to look at the marks again. "These look like from a lance or a spear. It can't be another Lancer, or Saber. Berserker had a sword, Assassin or Caster wouldn't be strong enough to do this kind of damage. It couldn't be Archer unless they have a ridiculously large bow, so it has to have been Rider after all... but that means they could be anywhere now." She looks around again. "But the paper talked about bullet wounds... there's no way a magus of the Association would use a gun..."
