I love the cold and the snow! How can you dislike it?
It's harder to correct being cold than being warm. That might come from living in a warm area though.
that's simply false.

I can dislike it, because I've been stuck walking for half an hour (or longer) in -40 weather.  Multiple times.  And yes, wind chill still has a major impact at that temperature.  Also, -20 plus stepping into too deep a snow bank so that some gets in your footwear and melts guarantees you're not feeling warm no matter what else you wear.

Keeping warm: You put on a pair of thick socks and a warm hat.

Keeping warm: You stay inside and crank up the thermostat.  Because no matter how many layers you wear, the cold just has to find a single tiny path to your torso or feet, and you're screwed.

I can understand how -40 is a little to much, but as long as it stays above -35 I can cope just fine. You put on a pair of thick boots, long-johns, ye olde winter jacket and a pair of wind proof pants that you can button over your boot so that it stays there and you are all set to go.

Silly Fahrenheit users. Start using temperature scales that make sense. Also length scales.

Amen. If you aren't gonna use Kelvin, at least use real degrees.

For the record, I far prefer cold over hot, but given a say in the matter, I'd even rather hover around 10-20°C.

I can honestly say that I have no idea what you are talking about.

If it's seriously cold, it takes more than a little extra clothing to fix that. If it's warm, stay inside with the AC on, perhaps drink a bit more.

By the same logic - if it's seriously cold, stay inside with the thermostat on.

I'm Canadian, and was using Celcius.  Not that there's any difference at -40, which is where both C and F cross...

I live in Sweden, the only building with AC over here are offices, stores and the occasional foreigners temporary home. When the temperature hits 30°C I'm pretty much incapacitated

Seriously. You can put more clothes and blankets on, but it's not like you can peel more layers of skin off... AC is expensive, fellow!
I mean, a +2 deflection bonus is how much? 4000 gp? Exorbitant!

This is the general case in much of Europe other than the Mediterranean countries, I believe. In middle and northern Europe, any given personal home will definitely have a heating system, but very few have air conditioning. In southern Europe, AC is more pervasive due to the climate being, well, subtropical.

I don't even own long-johns. Then again, I am quite used to the cold, so perhaps it's just a matter of getting used to the circumstances.

Argh, my head.  For no apparent reason, I have a pounding headache of hatred.  It's not like I've even been awake that long--this marks my eighteenth hour awake, which is within the normal span of human activity.

Stupid pain receptors, plotting against me.
“Hast thou not felt in forest gloom, as gloaming falls on dark-some dells, when comes a whisper, hum and hiss; savage growling sounds a-near, dazzling flashes around thee flicker, whirring waxes and fills thine ears: has thou not felt then grisly horrors that grip thee and hold thee?”
