Seriously... the fact that Kain's argument rested on "Even though the book doesn't say why there would be exceptions beyond that whole 'feel free to change the rules thing,' it doesn't say that there aren't exceptions, so that rule doesn't apply"...

No, but it has devolved very quickly. Ranting about one person is what got Ubernoob banned at the old forum.

That said; vent freely, just keep it under control. I know the odds of that particular person finding your posts about him in this thread are nil, but keep the flames about other forums to a birthday candle's size, ok? The main thing that should be avoided is turning this thread into another redux of the Logic Fail threads.

The other day I alter selfed into a wraith (as a necropolitan). The DM said that incorporeality is not a gross physical trait and ruled I would be only a floating sheet. One of the other players came to my defense, crying out that a lack of physical features is a gross physical feature.

When the DM said that using a 2nd-level spell to become incorporeal would be too broken, the player's defense for me was, "But alter self is ALREADY broken! It's the most broken 2nd-level spell in the game!"

Speaking of odd noises, I remember laying in bed one time when I heard this godawful sound coming from just outside my window.  It took a few seconds, but I realized it was a couple cats.  Sounded like they were fighting, and knowing cats they could easily go a couple seconds or a minute.  About half a minute later it annoys me enough that I open my window curtains to see what's going on...  Lo and behold, they're copulating.  I sit there for a couple seconds going "WTF?" before rapping on the window.  They both jumped a couple feet in the air and scampered.
