Best place for feedback
« on: September 23, 2013, 08:47:04 PM »
I am, I guess somewhat infamous for some of my long term projects taking forever to finish.  One is however, at long last beginning to see the end.  However I realize as i look at it, it began back in Wizards, moved to GitP, and then moved here.  Some of the earlier work in it was done when I knew less than I did now, and when my advice was sometimes misguided but well intentioned.

In short it needs re-balanced.  I've pretty much got an idea what I want to do, but I'd like to discuss it with people further away from the material than me.  SO which of the boards on these forums would be the best place to ask?

Which one is it?

Cat Burglar.  Isn't quite ready yet, and I wasn't posting the feedback thread till it was.  I need to finish up the new flaws and epic material.

So thoughts about where is best to post?  Homebrew doesn't seem to attract so many viewers these days...

Heh.

No, it's more that... Giantitp is dying on the Homebrew front. I'm not sure about other forums, but I feel like 3.5 Homebrew is in a decline right now.

I think part of the problem is that there are so many subboards. I love that about minmax, because it's sooooo much tidier than single threads for entire projects, but I'm guessing it also results in fewer views.

Just generally lessened activity. Big projects in general tend to be intimidating to commentators.

SO maybe a review thread in homebrew is ok then?  Given that I may not be around much longer I need to move on this (see the rant thread).

Yeah, a dedicated thread in Homebrew sounds like the way to go.

Doesn't surprise me. I took a bit of a break for a while, but I'd like to spruce up my latest batch of house rules after running a several-month long campaign with them.

That's why I tend to break mine into topics that I can try to get feedback on individually. It can be a bit of a pain though, as more gets done, because there are other assumptions being made that the posters might not know about.

Oh, and another thing I notice in passing, bhu, most of your stuff is posted as template first, which you then fill out incrementally. This means most people go to the sub board to check out new posts and mainly just see a blank template, so when it's finally complete nobody notices because it was edited in.

Yeah but nobody knows you finished it, because it doesn't show up on new posts.

Unless you go and post in it again. This is what I do when I update stuff that's been already posted...
