Oh, if you could survive getting away from home, it'd be a fun idea, but I doubt that kind of character would survive that long...

Oh yes, definitely. If your DM invents new rules to make your character not work, it really doesn't work at all. Anyhow, the necromancy school has plenty of things to do besides animate the dead.

He can still headbutt! Give him the Winged template (monk's speed bonus applies to all movement modes) and he's pretty set. Other than...being Monk 20.
