I'm an avid rpg player, i'm not limiteD to D&D but also Deadlands/7thsea etc.
Usually i'm not a min maxer type just a  if it looks cool take it( releated to feats etc).

I've found that Min/Maxing isn't about making the most ridiculously overpowered thing you can. That's munchkinism and is more about ruining the game and having a power trip while doing it.

You can Min/Max anything. You can even take a really non-optimal character concept, and build it in a way to make it playable. You could be like "I want a dual wielding ranger with a quarterstaff." And starting with a weak concept (mechanically) build it in such a way that the party doesn't feel like its carrying you. Whatever you're doing, you should try to do it the best way you can. The particulars of "best way" changes depending on your goal is, but usually involves being good at your role in the party so you feel like you're contributing.
