I just got back from watching The Imitation Game.

It was pretty great.

I'm curious whether the composition originated from mario paint

Listening to it again I'd say it did come from Mario Paint or Composer.  The sounds are exactly from there.

+1 ... the movie (itself) is definitely worth seeing.

been on a movie binge lately,

Inherent Vice is pretty decent, sort of a hippy version of LA Confidential maybe...

Nightcrawler was also decent.

What we do in the shadows was very funny, like The Office but vampires.

Book of Life looks amazing, its well done and a nice kids movie but what it really did well was being visually stunning.
Quote
Stunned:A stunned creature drops everything held, can’t take actions, takes a -2 penalty to AC, and loses his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any).

Top Five, pretty good. better than the box office indicates.

Predestination, weird. well made... once you excuse the parts that cant work.. its worth a watch.

Justice Leage Throne of Atlantis, meh. i do not like the New 52 much. it annoyed me in the first 5 minutes w/ a stupid thing they did on purpose. they got some geography wrong.

The Gambler, not a feel good comedy. its like watching an alcoholic drink mouth wash. its very well made and awkward as hell. i liked it, except for the ending.

Whiplash, Juno's dad is a dick. a little boring/ predictable but not bad.

The Monkey King, strangest kung fu movie iv ever liked. only wanted to watch it for Donnie Yen, it delivered on its promises (it made no promises)

Birdman, i like it. Keaton was spot on the right man for the role. i have no clue about the 'special' bit.

Big Hero 6, a close second to the Book of Life.

Hobbit part IX, good enough (thank god its over)

id call all of them 'to rent' except maybe the kids movies if you have kids the right age or have a pathological need to complete your Tolkien collection.

I has been on a movie spree as well.  I can recommend

The Big White (Robin Williams as an alaskan scammer)

Kundo: Age of the Rampant (been a while since i saw a modern kung fu movie)

Moonrise Kingdom

Found (very disturbing indie horror film that praises it's 80's ancestors)

Witching and Bitching

The Rambler (surreal acid western, not for everyone)

Borgman (Satan is my neighbor)

100 BLoody Acres (Subversion of common horror tropes)

Merantau (holy fuck the pole stunt is painful)

Red Hill (aussie cinma at its finest)

The Raid 2 (hammer girl!)

Into The Woods was pretty great, too. Of course, I have a soft spot for the play.

If non-humans are fair game, Vesuvan Doppelganger came out in 1993 with Second Edition you know? :p

Now that you mention it, Vesuvan Doppelganger can be a human as well, as that's a creature type in magic, and thus they can copy it.

So magic pioneered:
-trangender dragons.
-transgender orcs.
-transgender giants.
-transgender dwarves.
-transgender angels.
-transgender elves.
-transgender goblins.
-transgender treants.
-transgender (insert magic base race here) :P

(also google tells me there's another Berg Katse from anime out there that is/are aliens)

I hear Gatchaman's got more than one incarnation, but haven't been able to confirm that.

It's possible that we're talking about Gatchaman Crowds, which is... pretty much garbage, though.

I was referring to the original 70's series villain.  :P

Speaking of video game music...

Thanks for that. That's beautiful. I've been listening to it for hours on end now.

EDIT:

Did you know they also have a Weaboo Animu Playlistu?

http://wap.aersia.net/wap.swf

Enjoy! It's pretty good. (Haven't been update since 2011 tho)

Btw: is Haven't been correct in this instance, or i should've used Hasn't been? I got confused there.
