[3.P] Ignoring immunity to polymorph
« on: March 13, 2014, 10:18:08 PM »
Is there some way for ignoring or circumventing immunity to polymorph?

Depends on the immunity's source and how you wish to bypass it.

For example, a Lich can just ploymorph themselves.  If you wish to polymorph them yourself, you're pretty much out of luck.

On the other hand, someone wearing Proof Against Transmutation armor is just a greater dispel magic away from being vulnerable.

A wish or miracle could possibly do it.

I don't think Tarrasque's immunity is supernatural (or an ability). And even if we assume it is, after a few hours T will get his immunity back, which, I think, would remove the polymorph effect.

Well what do you plan on doing with / to the tarrasque?  How long do you need it polymorphed for?

I want to polymorph him into a human for a long time. The polymorphing isn't an issue, only the immunity.

Don't know if it will help but there's knowledge affiliation from Complete Champion, negate an ability 1/day for 1 minute, fort save, have to learn of the ability with a knowledge check.

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see anywhere that Tarrasques are immune to polymorph to begin with.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

Too short duration unfortunately.

They are in PF.

I don't think so, actually.  You only need to bypass it long enough to cast the polymorphing spell.  After that, it should run its duration normally.

If you need to cast the spell multiple times, after the first polymorph, it shouldn't have the immunity issue until it expires.

The spell I'm using doesn't remove immunity to polymorphing. Once the ability expires, T will recover it and it will remove the polymorph effect.
