Belly of the Beast (Su): The tanuki is a passionate eater whose gluttony knows no bounds. Whenever it can deliver a Coup de Grace to an adjacent target of its size or smaller, it can choose to deliver it with its slam attack to try to eat the target by transforming its belly and mouth to temporarily take the proportions it needs to swallow it (without getting sick or any other harmful effect). If the Coup de Grace would kill the target, it is instantly eaten, its body lost for the purpose of resurrections requiring it. It can similarly eat an adjacent dead (but still fresh) creature with a full-round action.
Whenever it eats a creature, it heals an amount of HP equal to its Charisma modifier times the eaten creature's CR (before death).
It can also use a standard action and a use of its
create food and water SLA to eat a whole day's meal and replenish lost hit points equal to its own HD times its Charisma modifier. Tanukis with this ability are generally pretty darn fat. Feel free to increase their weight modifier by 1d4.
Disguise the limit!: Each time this ability is taken the tanuki's
change shape gains one additional creature of its choice it can transform into per amount of time this ability has been selected (ie: selecting this ability 3 times gives a total of 6 additional shapes) and can also transform the look of any clothing (and clothing accessories) it wears along with its body.
The appearance of the body and clothing (if any) of the creature it transforms into can be different every time the ability is used (including gender and apparent age).
This ability cannot allow a tanuki to select a creature whose size is different than her own.
At 6 HD and every additional 6 HD, the size difference can be one more size category smaller or larger than its original form, to a maximum equal to the number of times you have selected this option. (ie: A medium tanuki that selects it twice can choose a huge creature to change shape into).
At HD 13, even effects such as True Seeing cannot pierce this disguise. A successful Spot check still succeeds.
You can change the chosen creatures every time you gain a level.
Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting: The tanuki is an accomplished warrior. Each time this ability is taken the tanuki gains one Fighter bonus feat for which it meets the prerequisites and either the improved Unarmed Strike feat or proficiency with one Monk special weapon of its choice.
I do it all for your sake: Each time this ability is selected, the tanuki gains one additional spell effect option for his Sake Affinity ability. The chosen spell effect must have a personal range, a casting time no longer than a standard action and be of a spell level no higher than your HD-1 halved (rounded down).
Unlike the other spell effects, these can only be received if the tanuki drinks up one of the daily swigs it can create.
You can change the chosen effect every time you gain a level.
It Tickles!: The tanuki gains Sneak Attack 1d6, as per the Rogue ability of the same name. This ability can only be selected twice, getting 2d6. If the tanuki gains this ability from one other source, it stacks with it.
When it attacks with its Slam attack, it may choose to deal non-lethal damage (including Sneak attack damage). Opponents that would fall unconscious from one of these attacks has a 75% chance to wet themselves.
Leaf Blower (Su): The tanuki has an unlimited supply of leaves and can throw them like shurikens. It is proficient in their use. It qualifies for any ability or feat that requires proficiency with shurikens or improvised weapons and can benefit from these abilities with these leaves.
The tanuki gains a +1 magical enhancement bonus it can apply to every leaf it throws. These enhancements does not stack with any enhancement done to the leaves themselves. Any daily charges (or similar) use the same pool of charges.
Every 4 HD the enhancement bonus increases by +1.
Starting 4th HD, the tanuki may assign any special weapon ability that can normally be assigned to a ranged thrown weapon in exchange for its equivalent enhancement bonus. The tanuki may not have a total enhancement bonus to attack and damage greater than +5 until it reaches 21 HD, at which point it may not have a total enhancement bonus to attack and damage greater than +10. It may also reduce its enhancement bonus by one to have its leaves treated as a special material or alignment.
Once per day, the tanuki can reassign the enhancement bonuses and special abilities after spending 8 hours in meditation.
Major Objection: This ability can be selected if the tanuki as at least 3 class levels in this monster class.
It may now use its Major Creation ability by casting it for 1 minute, but the created object may look a little (or very) surreal.
When you use this ability, make a Disguise skill check. Any who beat the result with a successful Spot check recognize the object is not fully real and can interact with it as if it did not exist.
It can quicken the process by taking a cumulative penalty to its Disguise check of -1 per round of concentration bypassed.
At a -10 penalty, it can do it with a single full-round action. At -20, as a standard action. At -30, as a swift action.
Masked Thief (Ex): The tanuki is an accomplished thief. It can raid a place in the blink of an eye. Picking objects up is a free action for the tanuki. If it has a bag or a similar container, it may store all picked up goods into it instantly.
Additionally, it may make Sleight of Hand attempts to lift objects of any size from a creature provided that the objects' weight is within half the tanuki's light load.
If you take this ability a second time, the object's weight can be up to the tanuki's light load and it only takes a -10 penalty for making Sleight of Hand attempts as a free action instead of 20. The tanuki also doesn't increase the DC by 10 if it has been caught or is being watched by someone who noticed its attempts.
Raccoon Champion (Su): When the tanuki transforms into the form of an animal, all its equipment merges with its new form but they maintain their benefits. It retains its ability to speak (even if the creature as no mouth. Its voice is simply heard) and can use held items with its mouth and paws/claws/talons/other-front-limbs as if it had fine manipulation and any item in its possession can be summoned or dismissed as a free action. Additionally, whenever it is transformed into an animal it counts as having the Animal creature type whenever it is to its benefit.
IE: As a raccoon dog, it can make a sword appear, use its mouth to wield it and attack then dismiss it back.
An item held in its mouth counts as two-handed if it holds nothing else.
(using front limbs for most creatures or talons for birds)
Super Leaf (Su): The tanuki can manipulate its weight (and that of its carried objects) to become as light as a leaf.
The tanuki's weight capacities are tripled.
If it falls, it can benefit from a
Feather Fall spell effect.
At HD 5, it can interact with a liquid surface as if it was firm ground and fragile surfaces (such as thin branches) as if they could support its weight.
At HD 9, it can even fly at double its base speed (average maneuverability) by twirling/wiggling its tail or flailing its arms in the air wildly.
If you have the
Leaf Blower ability, your leaves' damage increases to 1d6 (if medium).
Tanuki Leaf (Su): The tanuki can put a leaf on its head equipment slot to improve its transformation abilities. The leaf sticks to its head as if it wore an helmet. While equipped, the leaf grants the tanuki a +2 bonus to its effective HD or caster/initiator level for the purpose of determining the power of all its transformation-based abilities. Its transformation abilities also gain a +1 to their DC.
The Flabbergaster (Ex): The tanuki can now stretch its scrotum to absurd lengths and shapes. With a move action, it can stretch it to have it take the general shape of any object of a volume of 5-cu-ft./2 HD that can reasonably be made with a huge nutsack.
Typical uses.It can now use it as a natural weapon dealing 1d4 bludgeoning damage (if medium sized) with an additional 5-ft. reach per 4 HD.
The tanuki also gains a +2 circumstance bonus to Diplomacy checks when interacting with someone that can see its scrotum. Much respect.
A female tanuki (or a poorly endowed male tanuki) that takes this ability can instead stretch its tail (or transform into a well-endowed male tanuki. Getting weird enough?).
