Specifically masterwork tools.

Could I, for example, get a pair of gloves that added the circumstance bonus to climb and sleight of hand - the MiC rules imply that a single tool with extra bonus would cost 125gp. Some of the other tools appear to have combined bonuses, but their costs don't reverse engineer very well.

On a similar note, could I make a slotless masterwork tool by spending extra money?

Really, any tool you don't hold should be slotless--slots correspond to magical items. So you don't even need to spend extra money.

However, I don't see a case or a MW tool of climb and sleight-of-hand. It's better to not combine the things unless you can easily use one for another, in which case I'd just price it as the closest DMG equivalent. >_>;

Ok. So the best answer is what I suspected: its up to the common sense and discretion of the GM. Not a huge deal, really, as GMs who allow masterwork tools for any skill are also the ones who won't worry much about having a bunch of them.

Its the one who require careful, thoughtful descriptions tailored to their own biases that cause fits. But thats a different issue.  ;)

The Gnome/Lantan Artificer from 3.0e
used the normal pricing scheme, and
it's "magic" items were (ex) powers.
At higher levels some were (su).

Masterwork toolS combined say like
a Swiss Army Knife, should still be
priced in the masterwork neighborhood.

I suppose combos have to work concept wise.
Knowledge X +2 and Open Locks +2 don't
seem like a compatible dual tool combo.
