I always read "normally" as in "before this feat/effect/ability."

Strictly speaking, you can't get both to work together, because you aren't getting Wis to AC, because you already replaced it with another one. You aren't allowed to have Wisdom to AC at that point.

As for self-disqualification, the feat texts forms a specific exception.

Precisely.  You can't apply them both simultaneously, and choosing, say, Ascetic Mage means you are no longer adding your Wis to AC.  Thus, Ascetic Psion has nothing to work from.

Dragon 280 has some spells for familiar users, including one of third level, Familiar's Form, that allows you to move your soul into one permanently until dismissed.
That's a legal way to play a beguiller beguiller or any other hilarious thing without LA. No ill effects if your original body is destroyed (except for being stuck now); if your main body is ok but the familiar one is killed — you just suffer normal effects of losing a familiar. Better than a clone.

Hoard Gullet (Dragon Magic) expels all its contents instantly and can carry quite a lot. Load your flying familiar with attack alchemy!

2b) there was a  Sarrukh page on the wotc web site that had a depowered version of what the other one had
I'm curious to see if WotC "fixed" it the same why I did. Can anyone find this?

non-Domain spell slots into one of the Priest of the Waste spells.
So endure elements et al, spontaneously. Wooo. So above for a real fun find.

@wingboner welcome to the boards! Good catch on the cheaper-than-magic jar spell.

I don't know (might be safe to assume they didn't know)
if they were attempting a "fix", so much as it was the usual
editting who knows what the "f"ruitloops.

... I doubt those page links are right.  EDIT --- nope they're biffed.
The guy did raise a reasonable point, if the (ex) only version
was all that existed, that Sarrukh tactic, by itself wouldn't do infinite.

The WOTC page was archived  http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040709a&page=3

Quote
Manipulate Form (Su): At will, Pil'it'ith can modify the form of any Scaled One native to Toril, except for aquatic and undead creatures. With a successful touch attack, he can cause one alteration of his choice in the target creature's body. The target falls unconscious for 2d4 rounds due to the shock of changing form. A successful DC 23 Fortitude negates both the change and the unconsciousness.
Pil'it'ith may use this ability to change a minor aspect of the target creature, such as the shape of its head or the color of its scales. He may also choose to make a much more significant alteration, such as converting limbs into tentacles, changing overall body shape (snake to humanoid, for example), or adding or removing an appendage. Any ability score may be decreased to a minimum of 1 or increased to a maximum equal to Pil'it'ith's corresponding score. Pil'it'ith may also grant the target an extraordinary ability or remove one from it.

Interestingly, in the book Serpent Kingdoms, it's both ways.  When the book describes the Sarrukh race (page 80-81), it says EX, SU, or SLA.  But when it describes the particular Sarrukh known as Pil'it'ith (page 61), it's only EX.

Example text is often erroneous and example builds are the worst. As always, use the actual rule entry.

Like remember that time everyone thought Abjuration Champion improved Mage Armor?

By everyone, you mean just WoTC and people grasping at straws?
(Though a strong argument could have been made that Marge Armor should have been Abjuration, Conjuration can give up half its spells and still be a top two school.)

Marge Armor?  Is that a spell that encases the caster in Marge Simpson's beehive?
What do I win?
An awesome-five for mentioning Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.

A fun find!

The Half-Orc Paladin substitution level is so much better than normal Smite, it isn't even funny.

You trade Smite for a "Righteous Fury" that gives you a +[2 + Class Level/4] Morale bonus to attack and damage rolls made with melee weapons; Righteous Fury lasts for a number of rounds equal to your Charisma modifier. You can use it the same number of times per day.

As long as you don't have a Bard in the party, that makes for a pretty good buff.

EDIT: Also, Resourceful Buyer from Races of Destiny lets you buy stuff as if the community you're in were one size larger. Could be useful, I guess...

Resourceful Buyer is interesting, though only worth to blow a feat on very, very special circumstances or theoretical building exercises. I don't believe i've ever played a game where the DM used the rules on community size to ascribe maximum value of items that can be found & bought within the city. Most times, the DM just made some skill checks, said yay/nay to whatever i was looking for and that was that, building a narrative around it of course. Or made a quest around getting what was needed to make/find the thing.

Sounds like a downtime use for the Chameleon bonus feat which isn't item crafting.

Dragon Magazine 348, page 46. Variant greater bestow curse: remove a class feature. Might be useful for a paladin that is fed up with his code of conduct.

Or a druid without the druid-specific Weapon and Armor Proficiency, which includes their special interaction with metal armor: pick up armor proficiency elsewhere and play a heavy metal bear. I'm sure we can find more!

Risen Martyr without Final Ascension.

It looks like the whole "can't take levels in other classes" thing is part of Final Ascension, so...

It's not that bad of a class once you've stripped out that bit of idiocy.

Another one:

Warhulk without No Time To Think.

EDIT: The Auspician from Faiths and Pantheons is an awesome PrC.

On the one hand, it has really shitty prerequisites; you need Dodge, all of the save boosting feats (Iron Will and company), need to be Chaotic, have the Luck domain, Fort +5, and Ref +2.

In exchange... it's a 10/10 spellcasting PrC with good Fort and Will, a d8 HD, and a medium BAB.

But that's not all!

At 1st level, you get the Fate domain if you don't already have it, and can give yourself a +20 Luck bonus to an attack roll 1/day as a free action. This eventually scales to a +30.

At 3rd level, you can reroll other people's rolls once per day.

At 4th level, you get to pick one option from a list of buffs each time you prepare your spells - notable ones are a +2 Luck bonus to all your spell save DCs, a +4 Luck bonus to Initiative, or a +2 Luck bonus to AC.

At 7th level, you can lend one of those buffs to an ally, in exchange for taking an equivalent penalty yourself - just give the Fighter a +1 Luck bonus to melee attack rolls or something.

At 8th level, you gain one option off the list of buffs as an Extraordinary ability.

At 10th level, you can automatically succeed on one saving throw per day.

The best part? There's no prereq saying what type of spellcasting you need, and you just need the Luck domain to get in. So Arcane Disciple comes to the rescue!

Wilder without  Psychic Enervation.  Just Wild Surge all the time with no drawbacks at all.

I wonder if the reverse is possible: forcing class features on your foes. Something like Illithid savant, fusion with the victim, acquire class feature, separate. This one probably wouldn't work, though.

That would make for one cruel BBEG and a whole new type of threat for players.
