?l?tan was born on the very edge of the Talenta Plains - so close to the edge, in fact, that it was said his feet touched sand when he first learned to walk on his own. That touch was soon after said to have changed his life, for the further he was taken from the Blade Desert, the more his mood soured and the less he spoke with those around him. All through his childhood he was difficult, except to those halflings willing to show him the ways of nature to explain and teach him what he wished to know, for them he treated with respect, and followed about as would a loyal dog. Also, his moods grew better as he grew older, and those around him put his early absorption with the desert down to childhood fancy.
That all changed upon the day that he came of age, for while he partook of the ceremonies during the day, the next morning he was gone, his belongings missing and not a sign of him to be found. Eventually, the best trackers amongst the tribe were able to determine a trail, heading directly south, into the great wastes of the Blade Desert. There were calls from his parents and a few others to go and retrieve the foolish boy, but they were overruled by the elders, who knew that the young halfling would never find peace unless he found himself in the desert that he had made his home.
Years passed before there were any reported sightings of ?l?tan, and when at last he re-emerged from the desert, he did not go towards the Talenta Plains of his homeland, but rather a straight path towards Sharn and what resided there. All the while he was accompanied by a strange creature of the wastes, not one seen before outside of those sandy confines. Whatever had brought him out of the desert had etched a purpose into his mind, but what purpose it was remained nebulous, for rather than act upon it immediately, he went in search of a company of adventurers. Whatever his long term plans, ?l?tan was most certainly in need of supplies.
Druid 20, focusing on desert and summoning feats.
