Any Ideas on a Duel Class Cleric?
« on: July 30, 2014, 12:39:39 PM »
Hello all!

I have been searching around to get some ideas for a Duel class Cleric/OGL Steampunk class character.

A little background for the campaign -

Humans are the dominate race and treat all other races as surfs/slaves. All magic use is banned. The rise of the machines has come. Our adventuring group is made up of a ragtag band consisting of 2 elves, a dwarf and the hated half-elf. We have a  elf druid/thug, half-elf monk/psion, dwarf fighter/inventor and my character and elf cleric/something from OGL Steampunk. Our mission is to strike back against the humans for the 1500 years of oppression and to attempt to bring peace to the land.

Our DM has stated that we get the best Saves/Skill points/BaB/HPs and so on between the two classes. We also get all feats and abilities of each class. So overall these are going to be some pretty powerful characters.

My question is to those who might be familiar with the OGL Steampunk classes. Which one should i take?

I am leaning towards the combatant since it is OGL's equivalent of the fighter which would give me the fighting capabilities and would leave my cleric levels open for Heals and Buffs.

Thanks for your input and advice.

Something like this ?

... or do you have a link to what you're using.

Cleric of Vecna is secret secrets to the max.
You can go Self Buffing only, and no V S or M components.
While not a great build idea in isolation, it is functional
and keeps you on a well known power curve.
Your codpiece is a mimic.

Looks like OGL Steampunk was published in 2004, meaning it would be based on 3.5 rules.  That means it's "gestalt," not "dual class."  You had me confused there, since you were using 2nd-edition terminology.

Awaken - Yes the link you provided is the OGL book i am trying to get my second class from.

Maat - I apologize, I played 2nd addition  for roughly 7 years. So yes a Gestalt character.
