OK so

Quote
M a t e r i a l (M )
Casting some spells requires particular objects,
specified in parentheses in the component entry.
A character can use a component pouch or a
spellcasting focus (found in chapter 5) in place of
the components specified for a spell. But if a cost is
indicated for a component, a character must have that
specific component before he or she can cast the spell.
If a spell states that a material component is
consumed by the spell, the caster must provide this
component for each casting of the spell.
A spellcaster must have a hand free to access these
components, but it can be the same hand that he or she
uses to perform somatic components.

And

Quote
M in o r C o n j u r a t io n
Starting at 2nd level when you select this school, you
can use your action to conjure up an inanimate object
in your hand or on the ground in an unoccupied space
that you can see within 10 feet o f you. This object can be
no larger than 3 feet on a side and weigh no more than
10 pounds, and its form must be that of a nonmagical object that you have seen. The object is visibly magical,
radiating dim light out to 5 feet.
The object disappears after 1 hour, when you use this
feature again, or if it takes any damage.

Does this mean that Conjuration Wizards have pretty much free material components for anything? (Since they're likely small things like 1000 gp rubies and such).

There is quite a lot of abuse that can be done with this I think, since you could theoretically summon 10 pounds of plutonium or some other stuff. Just having a sight, volume and weight restriction doesnt limit other potentially gamebreaking properties that dont depend on those factors.

You could also imitate any potion you've seen, potentially having infinite potions too (unless potions count as magical items, hrm).

You could also summon 10 pounds of supercorrosive acid.

If you have some way of seeing souls, you can create a copy of other peoples/creatures soul

Magic items cant be made but psionic items seem to be perfectly OK

Another stupid thing you could do:

>Get high
>Via your hallucinations, see an inanimate psionic 9 pound 2.9 feet tall machinegod that can grant you infinite wishes if you say "Cheesenoodles" in front of it.
>Since you saw it, you can Minor Conjuration it forth into existance. You do so.
>"Cheesenoodles"
>Infinite wishes at level 2

Another thing:

>Shrink somebody's dead body (via shrink spell). Maybe a halfling or something.
>Look at it.
>Minor conjure forth the shrunken dead body
>Cast revivify on the shruken dead body
>Revivify the real body too, heh
>Clones
>The cool thing is that you can do with with anyone provided that they're small enough to be less than 10 pounds and all that shit once shruken. Just revivify that cadaver and instant ally for you.
>Remember that Revivify has no "soul" requirement ohohoooooooooo.

You could also Minor Conjure forth a piece of a really powerful being (a hair or a nail of a god or whatever, they're inanimate things, right?) and use it to create a Simulacrum of it, tehehee.

7th-level illusion
Casting Time: 12 hours
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M (snow or ice in quantities
sufficient to made a life-size copy of the duplicated
creature; some hair, fingernail clippings, or other
piece o f that creature’s body placed inside the snow
or ice; and powdered ruby worth 1,500 gp, sprinkled
over the duplicate and consumed by the spell)

reserving judgment just yet
... but this reminds me of early 4e tricks.
Duplicate ritual abuse in particular, but also
Gygax's Guitar Gods, and the guys in rpga
were doing lots of creation ritual tricks too.

It wouldn't surprise me, that small loops
can pop up out of their rules wordings.

Another trick is that if you can't summon illusion things or things that aren't "real" but visible, you can try to Minor Conjure it, and if you can, its real. If it fails, something is up.

You could also "test" if a certain wall or chest is magic. Just try to summon a piece of it (a brick, for example) and if you can, its not magical and real. If you can't, its magical or not real or something and you have to be careful.

Its stupidly overpowered for a 2nd level class feature. It's a power that scales with your mental repertoire of visual memories of things, not EXP or level. You can feasibly summon 10 pounds of nonmagical instakill venom with this onto people.

And if you can see PLANES you can summon a 3 foot sphere area of that PLANE (planes or a certain portion of area within a plane aren't magical and they're inanimate things iirc).

You could summon, at will, a sphere of the Time Plane. At ECL 2.

Edit: Gah, I doubleposted. Anyhoo. The 2nd level spell "beastsense" lets me see through the senses of any beast. If WotC publishes a beast with special senses (such as seeing Planes somehow) you could just beastsense that creature to see even more stuff to minor conjure.

Leugren has a really detailed Spells thread, back at wotc.
http://community.wizards.com/forum/player-help/threads/4139341

Eliminating the too long casting times, because the Minor Conj goes away after 1 hour.
8 hours , 5 , Awaken [Transmutation] (V,S,M; Expensive Components) (Bard, Druid)
12 hours , 7 , Simulacrum [Illusion] (V,S,M; Expensive Components) (Wizard)
24 hours , 2 , Hallow [Evocation] (V,S,M; Expensive Components) (Cleric)

No comment yet, on further edits, access or useability (!).

Expensive Material Components spells
The following spells all require expensive materials with named prices, which means that you cannot use a component pouch or focus in place of the material component:

I just want to cry.
If you have questions about 3.5 D&D, you might want to look at the:

The typical response to shoot down things like this is that the conjured item has no inherent worth - since it is not stated that it does.

You may have a minor conjured powdered ruby, but it does not satisfy the worth required by the spell.

That would be my response as a DM.

hmmm ... yeah I could see that as a decent DM ruling.

The 4e Duplicate version of this, I figured you could use
any ritual that would last < as long as the Dup would last.
But not longer.  Otherwise that opened the possibility
of making magic items, and T.O. breaking the economy.

Also, it's probable that some of the combos don't do anything.
True Strike cantrip at least gives Advantage for your next round Attack.
This trick does not.  It's not gonna be worth it via action economy.
