Dunor gets a grip on his nerves, but a shiver still runs down his spine. He steps forward, then around the corner to stand beside Thespias, attacking the creature who the halfling had just shocked.

Sinking his blade into one wererat he does not notice another slinks up behind him in the darkness. The warrior moves aside slightly, narrowly avoiding dirty teeth sinking into him.


Suddenly a black shadowy morass surrounds the legs of Dunor, Thespias, and Tanthalus. So thick, that moving through becomes difficult as it pulls on your limbs. To the rest of the group it appears that the their three companions are struggling against something unseen.


The wererat brute moves deeper into the darkness.

"That shrine is the cause of this darkness, I cannot destroy it alone and will need others of my faith to cleanse this place," Tanthalus calls out to his companions before once again shining the light of his god into this darkness.

He then cries out to those who are still away from the battle, "Companions, to me!"

The divine spear of light, diminished in the gloom, lances through the wereat. Burning it while at the same time a glow surrounds Dunor uplifting his spirit.

Hearing the sounds of fighting coming from the room intensifying, Galadren frowns as he slides a new bolt into the crossbow.
Then Tanthalus yells, summoning them all to battle - prompting Galadren to roll his eyes as he creeps back up to the corner.
Twisting around the corner just far enough to bring his crossbow to bear, Galadren squints at the latest dark shape attacking Dunor, and then fires.

"Working on it."

Galadren mutters as he slides back around the corner yet again to reload.
(Yeah sure, it's a cheap tactic, but these wererats decided the first thing they wanted to do was run away, so they deserve a coward's death. :-p )

Tulugaq sweeps into the room, whispering curses that begin to shrivel the wererats in his midst.

The bolt Galadren fires sinks into the closing door that his warlock companion just went through. Sertanian looks to be a help any way he can without risking too much and races past the elf to the door, opening it up for clearer shooting.

Being so close to his enemy when casting, the wererat sinks his teeth into the Halflings arm.


Thespias' dagger activates sending a jolt through the lycanthrope. Finishing the incantation, Theo sends more arcane lightning into the wererat.

Shandien grabs a sun rod from his pack, cracking it open he strides forward boldly. "Keep lighting these up.", Crossing the room, the outline of the withdrawing wererat is visible. Swinging his lightning blade in an arc the blade fails to connect.

Aware that he couldn't keep sniping into the room forever, Galadren decides that now is as good a time as any to join the fray.  Racing around the corner he had been using for shelter, Galadren moves up to the doorway, sets his eyes on the distant wererat cowering before Shandien at the far end of the room, raises his crossbow, and snaps off a shot before ducking back away from the doorway.

The wererat skirmisher locks shadowy gazes with the warlock but is able to shrug off the effects. But soon a crossbow quarrel changes that visage to a grimace.

Sertanian continues to hold the door and stands ready to help in other ways.

Thespias directs an arc of lightning towards the only enemy he can see. Realizing the futility of throwing spells blindly, he then grabs a sunrod from his pack and activates it.

Dunor swivels his head to gaze through the darkness, seeing little but a glimpse of the wererat his allies were attacking. The only thing left to do was to concentrate attacks on the only visible foe, and hope that the others would slip up somehow and give away their presence...
