The crossbow's bolt momentarily marks the wererat's location and divine light pours into the alcove from Tanthalus' prayer.

Theo scampers along to catch up and seeing that his cleric just lit up the alcove in the hall he ducks behind the pillar and squeezes himself between the wal and pillar for a better vantage for his own spell filling the area with lightning arcs and crackling energy.

With his allies literally filling in the gaps, Dunor slips down the hallway and, using the overwhelming numbers of his party surrounding the illusionist to his advantage, jabs a quick strike at the foe.

The wererat turns to duck behind the next pillar and runs into Dunor's incoming blade. His shriek is cut short as the blade finishes its pass and the wererat's eyes slowly lose their life luster and the blank stare of death remains.

Growling to himself upon hearing Tulugaq's cry, Galadren heads back towards the permanently dark chamber, running at top speed (not sure how close 18 squares - 7+2 run = 9 * 2 = 18 will get me).  Assuming he can at least see the door in question starting to finish swinging closed, he shouts out at the darkness.

"Smart."  Galadren grunts, eyes scanning the darkness, his ears practically twitching with effort as he sought to locate the wererats in the pitch blackness.  The best way to do that was to keep them talking.

"Here's the thing though - you're still not negotiating from a position of strength.  I assume you're trapped in this room, otherwise you'd be gone by now.  We've already killed your buddies, and your boss, so there's no one coming to help you.  And you haven't exactly done very well in a fight against us yourselves.  And when the rest of my friends get back from your boss's corpse, they aren't going to be happy you took the old man.  Me, I'm indifferent to whether you live or die.  So here's what I'm thinking - I can try to convince my friends to let you go.  I figure I can get them to go a life for a life, so that's one of you out, but let's be realistic here - he's an old man, and you're two wererats - not exactly an even trade.  So only one of you is walking out of there alive at the moment - which one is it going to be?  If you've got something else to trade, but I can get the other one out too - but gold alone's not going to cut it, we could just take that off your bodies.  You got something else to trade?  Information on what your boss was doing here maybe?"

While Galadren was speaking, all the while he struggled to keep the tremor from his voice - he was not as indifferent to Sertanien's fate as he let on.

As the wererat mage slinks to the floor and shouts come from the room he previously left, Dunor rushes back. Hopefully he could help contain the hallfway, but truth be told, he just wanted this whole ordeal to be done with.

He calmly walks into the darkness, guided by Galadren, and focuses the power of Amaunator through his holy symbol as he yells, "Back foul creatures!"

Seeing Tanthalus move towards them and disappear into the darkness, the voice "Ave it your way then."and just prior to the the elf's shout and rippling blast you hear a faint wet Snickt and a muffled gurgle as several tumbles can be heard on the floor.

"NOO! you sons of rat whores!" Theo shouts, knowing that they have hurt the old man. he pulls a sunrod, breaks it open and tosses it to where he thinks they have landed. "I am going to incinerate your flesh from your bones, then blast your bones into bits!"
