If there is someone else willing to go, I'll make room. That way I can guide TravelLog through his first run.

What does Iron Curtain mean by "negates all forms of attack"? Would that negate things like casting a Transcend Mortality effect on him, then Dispelling it?

I think you mean dismiss the spell. Why bother with dispelling?

HEY TSHERN!!!!!

I have lately had an idea of putting together a themed same-game-test for E6 and was wondering if I could get your advice on it. It would basically be somewhat like the Iron Siege but obviously significantly down-sized. The character would effectively be transported to a level of the nine hells and have to fight/survive their way out.

Interested?

I doubt I can be of much help at those levels. I am best acquianted with the Dicefreaks version of Nine Hells, although I have a working knowledge of the standard version as well. I suppose it depends on what fluff you are going to use and so forth. Probably would be for the best to do this via PMs if you still want help, instead of clogging this thread.

It means that it negates anything that could conceivably cause harm to Dispater, as per his judgement. And yes, Iron Curtain would negate that. It's basically a "No button".

After a quick look at my PM box at BG, some of the things asked where Nar Demonbinder, Power word: Deafen and Streamers.

Power Word: Deafen
--Allowed.

Nar Demonbinder:
--Not Allowed for now. If someone gives an explanation of intended usage within their build, then we'll talk. This thing is a part of some really potent, sometimes broken, tricks. Convince me otherwise if you can. Otherwise, no dice.
  • Iron Sign: It's made of iron. No matter what the ability says, Dispater doesn't have to come calling (with no save by the way!) when the focus is made of iron. It obeys him, rather than the summoner.
  • Brazen Sign: Again. Made of IRON.
  • Silver Sign: This is just beyond broken. RAW, it can call any outsider, as the others, with no save or way of avoiding being called at all. Ever. It prevents all of a creature's ability and powers from leaving 5 feet of the circle. All for 5,000 gp. Super broken.

Streamers:
-Allowed.

What about other licensed products?

Anauroch: Don't have this book, but I know enough about Sharns to know they eat the action economy for breakfast. No. (They wouldn't be usable with Knight of the Weave and Nar Demonbinder anyway, as they were updated Player's Guide to Faerun to no longer have spell levels).
Quote
Change spellcasting levels to spells, but the function is the same: A sharn casts spells as a 7th-level sorcerer and a 5th-level cleric. (page 197)

Champions of Valor: When paired with Nar Demonbinder? And a Phaerimm? I don't think so. I don't have Lost Empires of Faerun, but I've seen the Arcane Dilettante threads, so I know where you're going. Don't try it.
Lost Empires of Faerun: Don't have this book. See also: Anauroch.
Magic of Faerun: You want it for that Gem Magic don't you? I'll think about it and read up on it, then get back to you.
Monsters of Faerun: Don't have it. See also: Anauroch, Lost Empires of Faerun.
Oriental Adventures: Before you suggest anything, I'm hesitant largely because it is meant for Rokugan. Still, propose what you want specifically and we'll see.
Savage Species: I'll get back to you.
Tome of Magic: Go for it.
Unapproachable East: Read the post right before yours for my Nar Demonbinder ruling. Also, there is no way I am letting you use Knight of Weave, Nar Demonbinder and Phaerimm. See my earlier answer.
Swiftblade: Go for it.

Other licensed products: provide specifics for what you want, then we'll talk. Things are considered on a case by case basis.

One last thing, I mentioned I don't want to see broken, nigh-infinite, uber-cheese builds. This is an example of trying to get something past me that is less than on the up-and-up.

Mystic Wanderer: Give me a day or so and I'll make a decision.
Phaerimm: Still no. Sorry, but it's simply too broken with it's ability to destroy the action economy.

Mystic Wanderer- ok (only 2 levels at the most)
Phaerimm- i've never seen that.... that's always been the Sharn.
the spellcasting of the Phaerimm and its windsock look are what i "need" :-p

Ah. My mistake. I misread and thought you meant Sharn. Let me think about it. I'll get back to you soon.

I'll go through the other stuff in the next day or two. Right off the bat though:
Mystic Wanderer: For two levels only? Tentatively approved then, though subject to change as I look into the matter further.
Planar Shepard: Hell no. You shouldn't ask for things like this.
Dragonlance: Don't have it. So no.
Dragonmarked: Don't have it.
Secrets of Sarlona: Don't have it.
Ghostwalk: Don't have it.
Dragon Magazine: Don't have them. In general, no Dragon Magazine stuff unless there's a hugely good reason and it's been playtested and found to be balanced.
LA Buyoff: At this high a level? No.
Flaws: No. They are nowhere near balanced.
Archivist/Dread Witch: Yes. For archivist though, be reasonable with spells known. If you abuse their abilities to learn spells, you'll get hit with the banhammer.
Taint: No.
Incantatrix: See Planar Shepard. Stop asking for these kind of things. This is a warning.

For the stuff I don't have, it's an automatic no unless you can provide me links.

I'll get back to you on the other stuff. Can you add an addenda to your post with only the remaining unaddressed points for easy reference for me?
