Since I am back now, I am contemplating about restarting this. Could use the exercise myself.

Its the 3.5 officially licensed Planescape setting

here's the free pdfs

http://www.planewalker.com/sections/30-35-pscs

I'm not sure if I asked, but I was curious if several of the Dragonlance books are available (Towers of High Sorcery, Bestiary of Krynn) ?  The Dragonlance books are 1st and 2nd party (licensed plus published by Wizards or another company)

I'm glad you're back!

Hmmm, Dragonlance has some nice time travel spells, but Mammon would get right on that, wouldn't he?

Why do you want the Wizard of High Sorcery? There is nothing that is unique to the class. If you want something specific from it I can point you to another source.

Magic of Mystery is the only really interesting ability in my opinion and you can get the same effect from 2 levels of Luckstealer (RotW)

Actually the Magic of Mystery is MUCH better than the Luckstealer's Subtle Magic. It only allows 1 CL check per divination vs. 1 check per spell of yours

and isn't limited to halflings

I don't think it loses that much since the spread of a d20 is pretty small at that level.

Also, Subtle Magic protects against all divinations while Magic of Mystery only protects against divination spells, spell-like abilities, or magic items.

Under the adaptions section of the Luckstealer class it says it's not particularly tied to the halfling race. I'm sure that if you asked the halfling requirement would be waived.

Ummm... actually Magic of Mystery protects more than the Subtle magic.

Why? Because Subtle Magic says 'caster of the divination' which means spells only (SLA are activated, not cast).

whereas Magic of Mystery protects against spells, SLAs, and magic items.

as for the non-halfling thing? that's an adaptation, which is a variant of the standard requirements of the class, which requires additional dm approval (besides allowing both classes).

on top of that, the Wizard has easier prereqs, many of the feats can be gained for free. The Tower of High Sorcery gets rid of the wizard specialization requirement.
upside, full casting vs 7/10
downside, arcane only.

Luckstealer is only a 1 level dip since there is nothing else in the class worthwhile (although Lucky Magic isn't terrible).

I'm also not sure why you would go past 3rd level in Wizard of High Sorcery. None of the other abilities are worth an epic feat.

Oh, I totally agree. My character uses it with invisible spell on all of his spells. It's just that it sounded like you were going to take a full 10 levels in the class when you said "upside, full casting vs 7/10" while comparing it with Luckstealer.

Also, you should check out Epic Consecrated Stealth Bubble. It's an epic spell which, among other things, protects your other spells and your magic items from divination effects.

Oh of course I wouldn't ever tap 4+ in that class.

I'm curious if Bestiary of Krynn is available?

I don't think so... I think if it is to be revived, someone else needs to run it. Tshern hasn't posted since 2013.

This has indeed been offline. All kinds of things have been going on, some good and some bad. I've not had the chance to exercise my D&D knowledge for a while, but now that things are looking more normal, I've thought about the Iron Siege too. This community is great, so I am now making a serious effort to be more active and once I get my bearings, I will also pay more attention to this challenge. If there still is interest in this, I'll try to put it back up.

Good to see this thing again, haha!

Unfortunately, I've put 99.9% of my time into Pathfinder.

Glad you're back though.

Post house buying stuff, I could probably shake off the rust and give it a go.

I'm going to post over here as well, that I'm considering taking over lending Tshern a hand. Most of the work is in the administrative end: rule set tweaking, source checking, logical consistency, etc rather than actually running players versus Dispater and his planar layer. That's the bulk of the load that I can shoulder easily.

And I have never been gone for a full month in all these years.

Edit: And then the boards died. So while waiting for things to get up and running for me (again), I took a break. Pulling that emergency brake was more effective than I thought. I never left discord, though, so I can technically be hailed in realtime.

I had a couple questions that never got off the ground above

I was hoping to use infinite caster to enter Dis before it was Dis and then travel back, or kill Dispater before he rises to power.
