Depends on who the fists/music belong to.

Bagpipes are inherently more terrifying.

There is no rule requirement that I can't play bagpipes whilst kicking people to death. Our battles shall have musical accompaniment!

And you chose the Way of Shadow? Or did you choose the Way of the Four Elements? Because if it's the first one, you're not exactly sneaky.

Way of the Four Elements. Sneaking is reliant on my ability to actually sneak, rather than any preternatural jiggery-pokery. :P

I now have the 5E PHB!  Now I don't have to fumble around with the basic rules and that leaked alpha anymore! :D

And, um... I am here I guess.  I suck at smalltalk though so might not say much but yeah. ^^;

No problem. I'll try to get things started over this weekend, though I'd like to remind everyone of my warning that posting may be slow at times due to the overlap over my work schedule and impending class schedule, as I'll be taking the first steps toward earning my MBA. I will post as often as I can,  but most of my posts will come in the early morning or late evening (EST) with some ability to post during the day time,  depending on circumstances.

I guess it depends on your temperament. The first guy looks like someone tapping into some ancient artifact filled with eldritch secrets. The second guy just looks like an angry wizard.

For some reason I find ANGRY WIZARD amusing, so my vote goes for that one at least.

There's nothing wrong with an angry wizard. In fact, I made a Rage Mage rewrite a while ago to fit that concept (although I feel I still didn't quite hit the mark I was aiming for).

Sorry about the somewhat hacky adventure start, everyone. I wanted to start off in a classic D&D conundrum, to allow everyone a good testing of the D&D 5e system.

For those unaware, Passive Perception is 10 + your Perception skill modifier; that is, 10 + your wisdom modifier, and any other bonuses such as your Proficiency bonus if you're trained in the skill.

So, if you're 3rd level and have a Wisdom of 14 and you're proficient in Perception, your Passive Perception is 14. This allows the DM (me) to tell you what you spot or hear without having to wait for a roll. It's an average result based on how finely tuned you are, a skill result without you actively having to check and search everything. It may help you notice things that will prompt a more active, rolled result.

Also, please limit OOC questions or comments to Spoiler tags in-game, or posted in this thread.

Does 'part of a thieves' tools kit' count as something small and concealable? Like, for instance, at least one blasted pointy thing. :P

Would probably also be hiding the chalk and insignia.
