thought I'd found nifty present for forum but it appears flawed (and possibly corrupt)  :(

After over 24 HOURS without energy, finally, it came back on.

A torrential rainstorm took us by surprise last night, and then today again. Over 240mm of rain... In three hours.

Then it rained again.

9 Inches in 3 Hours (translating) wow that's at Hurricane level.

thats what i told her...  :flutter

Except those aren't mountains.

The denomination arises from the meeting of tectonic plates. We are smack in the middle of one of those.

So, at the work Christmas party, two things happened.

First off, our CEO noted that of the 700 people at the party, 500 were customer service employees, and that nearly 800 of the company's total 1100 employees were in customer service, too. He talked about how important we are, and how we are a real part of the company, how Customer Services' head reports directly to him, blah blah blah.

5 minutes later he announces that the entire company will be closed on the 26th, everyone will get the day off with pay. This was exciting. Of course, those of us with some experience were concerned, because CS was scheduled as open, and the workforce people hadn't know we were closing (call center scheduling is a tricky art and arcane science). Nonetheless, many of us in CS management double checked that 'entire company' does, indeed include the call center. Exciting, right?!?

And now we find out that, no, the call center will be open on the 26th. Yes, we get time and a half, but we still have to be here.

So much for 'part of the company.'

So there's this commercial for some water park calling them a 'premiere destination' playing, and talking up how long they've been around.  I sarcastically mention this is the first I've ever heard of them and mom pipes up "I've heard of them before"

"Really, where are they?"

"I don't know, this is the first I've ever heard of them."   :scared

Like how the pressure builds and builds until it pops and makes a bloody mess?  Yeah, I can see that.

Just had my christmas party. I am in a particularly bad place at the moment due to my recent rejection letting me contemplate how nothing good ever actually happens to me. Nothing bad happens either but a 7 year long period of total stasis is not something to aspire to.

Girl who shot me down was at the party, I think I put a damper on her night by sulking in a corner.

The worst part is that I feel even worse for doing so, she is a lovely person and it isn't her fault that my own psychosis is making me the most depressing person to be around at a party.

I was thinking about that Greenpeace + Nazca defacement stupid thing.

Y'know ... it's right there in the same category as the Taliban blowing up the Bamian Bhuddas.

i disagree, a little bit.

the taliban have a distinct stand on religious issue things. the think its proper to do what they did.

the gp incident was ignorance and negligence.

the difference being one was on purpose and the other wasnt.
