I'll let you in on a secret: Raineh is actually a rare female Angry Marine.

so..other than waiting for the board to be made, what are we waiting on?

Also no one answer my question about organization

I'm clear.

Organization?   You mean "why are we working for the guild"?  For myself; money.  Specifically money for Taps' glorious school of dance for orphan urchins.

I'll admit, I optimized for my ability scores to the best of my ability, though I haven't really done anything above-and-beyond (9 Str, 14 Dex, 14 Con, 14 Int, 10 Wis, 16 Cha after racial modifiers).

I might still play a rogue, though I've been wanting to play a Warlock for so long that I'm putting it together to see where it goes. Depends on whether it seems like it'll be too redundant with bhu's character.

Most of all, I'm looking for something fun to play. I'll try to get the most out of my character, but I'm not likely to do much in the way of dipping.

Clanjos: The Magic Initiate feat can probably do what you're looking for if you're just getting a 1-level dip for some attack cantrips and a single 1st level spell. So you could totally go Barbarian 20 and still throw around bolts of magic doom. :)

trappedslider: Can you please repeat the question? I can't seem to find it.

I'm a noble. Admittedly, a noble from nowhere, but I'm charismatic and egotistical. Organisation is either ignored or I'll try and take charge. :P

Why is Scarlet working for the guild? Quests!

There is a clearly validated line that heroes that go on quests become more rich, famous, and powerful the more important the quest is. In short, questing equals money, status, houses, servants, and mighty magic powers. Only bards sing about heroes after all and even a rich man can fall through history's cracks without a persisting legacy.

What will s/he do with it all once it's obtained? Open a school of professional adventurers called SHIELD. They will take any task from assassinations to zoology so long as you pay for it. And with it, everyone will remember the name Scarlet until the end of times!

tl;dr: Going to be the first professional adventurer pimp and have a holiday dedicated in my honor.

By organization I mean,if you all would like a separate thread for the whose who of Crystal shore, or keep in the same thread as the setting info. I plan to copy and paste the setting from it's own thread into the game board  for easy reference.

Oh, toss it all in the same thread so it's less of a tabsplosion when trying to post a reply.

I agree with the 'shove it in one thread' thing.

Alright, i'll also iron out the population of the city, is there any info that isn't in the setting thread that you'd like to know?

Nothing comes to mind.  The only things I have in my backstory is an orphanage, and possibly a bar I was working on.  Easy stuff one expects to find in a city.

The setting seems to have some modern elements mixed with the standard fantasy elements. Where would you pin the style/atmosphere/what-have-you of the setting? For instance, there are a lot of shops, 'eateries', law enforcement (as opposed to just guards), government offices, and a company that is more or less a corporation (even using the LTD or 'International' that a modern company might use). Is there any level of technology beyond standard medieval/renaissance tech that most fantasy stories and D&D settings typically involve?

I was going for a unique style slightly inspired by Sharn ( mainly magical powered street lights) and the fable series of video games, along with words that sounded cool lol. As for other tech, nothing beyond what you would expect. So basically end of the medieval, early renaissance. No firearms at least not in the kingdom that Crystalshroe is in.

Cleric of death?

 :facepalm,..

EDIT: on Second thought... :plotting

In that case I shall be a cleric of the raven queen who eventually multis into eagle barbarian to fit the party theme.  I shall utter the shouted word "CRAW!" at random points.

I shall also be scottish periodically.

And my name shall be Old Man Henderson.
