Does anyone have any ideas on how to combine shaper and egoist powers in the same build? Especially with the rest of the stuff? I really have no clue. I can't figure out how to get powers from both disciplines on the same build. If possible, incorporating one of the saner recharge trick, I.e. the psicarnum infusion one would be nice.

Erudite? They can get discipline powers a level lower, and pick a specific discipline to get the 9th level of if you have your heart set on one of those.

Expanded knowledge also works to a more limited extent.

Or be an ardent and pick/customize your mantles wisely.

This, basically.

Though if you just want a couple of powers off the egoist list (as there aren't very many that I'd ever use, personally), I'd just go shaper and use Expanded Knowledge or research them as you like (as nobody ever seems to mention research except for me).

I'd prefer to stay away from ardent, for much the same reasons as psywarrior. Erudite would work, but I hate being a power level behind in the powers I'm gonna use the most.

Think you could gloss over the basics of research? It seems my best bet. And which egoist powers would you suggest?

Independent Research
A psion also can research a power independently, duplicating an existing power or creating an entirely new one. If characters are allowed to develop new powers, use these guidelines to handle the situation.

Any kind of manifester can create a new power. The research involved requires access to a retreat conducive to uninterrupted meditation. Research involves an expenditure of 200 XP per week and takes one week per level of the power. At the end of that time, the character makes a Psicraft check (DC 10 + spell level). If that check succeeds, the character learns the new power if her research produced a viable power. If the check fails, the character must go through the research process again if she wants to keep trying.

And I suggest Metamorphosis, Fission, and Fusion.

And if you want to make a headband of Int, Animal Affinity.

That's about it, really.

That seems deceptively simple. And a great way to go for getting the powers I want, Thanks. What powers would you suggest? I'll try and get a rough build up before I go into work today.

I get 90% of everything on the shaper's list, as well as Vigor and Share Pain (share both with your psicrystal), Psionic Grease, Entangling Ectoplasm, an energy power or two, and anything that sounds fun (like Time Hop and Burrowing Power/Touchsight).

Oh, and check out Ectoskeleton in Untapped Potential. Merge with your Pokemon!

You have spare weeks ... okay I think my paladin needs a vacation, she's questioning the existence of a whole day not working, less multiple weeks ...

Thanks, what are your thoughts on something like daekyr half-blood shaper 6+ constructor 9//ranger 2+melee class 3+impure prince 6+ melee class 4? And I'd like to have a recharge method if possible. My Dm doesn't mind them as long as I have to sacrifice time. The MoI recharge is one I've used before, but I had levels of incarnate, so I'm not real sure how to get a recharge.  I'll check untapped potential.

And I get free time often enough. My games are unfortunately only ever solo or dual player+ the dm.

Edit: I don't particularly know which symbionts would be best, but the tentacle whip let's me deliver touch attacks with 15' reach.
