Are you an erudite? There's some fun stuff from 3.0 that only works with erudite.
Feats:
HEROIC FOCUS [PSIONIC]
- DRAGON #339 (3.5)
You can tap your innate magical powers to create a reserve of mystic energy.
Prerequisite: Ability to cast 1st-level spells.
Benefit: As a swift action, you may sacrifice a 1st-level spell slot or prepared spell to gain a virtual power point. This virtual power point allows you to gain psionic focus as a psionic character (Expanded Psionics Handbook, 37). You gain psionic focus automatically in this way and do not need to make a Concentration check. If you expend your psionic focus gained because of this feat, you also lose the virtual power point from your sacrificed spell and must sacrifice another 1st-level spell or spell slot to regain it. If you already have psionic focus from another source, sacrificing a spell slot or prepared spell to this feat grants you nothing.
- EXPANDED PSIONICS HANDBOOK (3.5)
Your psicrystal has advanced enough that it can hold a psionic focus that you store within it.
Prerequisite: Psicrystal Affinity, manifester level 3rd.
Benefit: You can spend a full-round action attempting to psionically focus your psicrystal. At any time when you need to expend your psionic focus, you can expend your psicrystal’s psionic focus instead, as long as the crystal is within 5 feet of you. Psionically focusing your psicrystal works just like focusing yourself. The psicrystal cannot focus itself—only the owner can spend the time to focus the crystal.
Editor: Having two psionic focuses is awesome for those who dabble with metapowers. If you have Psionic Meditation, you can focus as a move action. Since you can ditch a standard action for a move action, you can bring both you and your psicrystal up to full focus in one round. The other way to improve this is with the instant clarity feat. Three times a day you can refocus as an immediate action after making a martial strike. So haste yourself, make a martial strike, expend your Psionic focus, use your immediate action to refocus, spend that focus, then spend your psicrystal’s focus. A whole LOT of work, but it would let you stack three metapower feats on the same power. If you want, it can be the same feat three times. Metapowers are not like metamagic feats, in that regard, but they still have to follow stacking rules. See the Metapower section for editor notes multi-stacking the same metapower.
Editor (What Metapowers To Triple Up): So you want to triple stack some metapowers? How about Linked. Hit someone with 4 charm in a row. He’s bound to fail ONE of them. Persistent/Extend/Extend. Have a 1r/level power last for 72 hours. Talk about maximizing your Buff durations! Enlarge to hit something at +300% range. Maximize/Empower/Empower if you are on a budget. Twin/Twin/Twin for 4 effects at once. Widen/Widen/Widen for a +300% area. Get Metapower version of Split Psionic Ray so it costs nothing extra to fire four max augment disintegrate rays. Reach/Chain/Phrenic Leech will let you hit up to 41 targets with a touch attack and potentially get power points from all of them (if they are psionic). Delay/Maximize/Widen and a little dab of quintessence can ruin anyone’s day with an AoE attack Spell. MANY options here.
- TOME OF BATTLE (3.5)
You have sharpened your concentration to the point that you can focus your psionic abilities with just an instant’s thought.
Prerequisite: Concentration 7 ranks.
Benefit: You can take a swift action to become psionically focused after successfully initiating a martial strike. You can use this ability three times per day.
Normal: A character without this feat must take a full round action to become psionically focused.
Special: Instant Clarity can be used in place of the Psionic Meditation feat to qualify for a feat, prestige class, or other special ability. You can take both this feat and Psionic Meditation.
Editor: if your build is dependant on psionic focus, look at this feat. Here’s the trick. I have haste by some means. I make my extra melee strike. I don’t care if it hits or not. I then use my standard action to use a power. I use a psionic focus to add a metapower feat to my power. Then I use my swift action to refocus and use THAT psionic focus to add a second metapower feat to my manifesting power. Getting more then two psionic focuses is difficult, and it costs you a swift action, but it is possible. Great for combining Persistent and Extend.
- WIZARDS.COM (3.0)
You increase your metapsionic cap and can spend more power points manifesting powers with one of the five energy types (acid, cold, electric, fire, sonic) than would normally be possible.
Prerequisite: Manifester level 6th+.
Benefit: Your metapsionic cap is increased to a number of power points equal to your manifester level + 2 for purposes of manifesting powers with the energy type (acid, cold, electric, fire, sonic).
Special: You can take this feat up to 3 times. Each time you take this feat beyond the first, you can add 2 power points to the metapsionic cap for purposes of manifesting these powers. Your new cap cannot exceed double your base metapsionic cap.
Example: A 13th-level psion with a metapsionic cap of 13 would have that cap raised to 15 for purposes of manifesting these powers.
Example: A 13th-level psion who has taken this feat 3 times can spend her normal 13 power points plus an additional 6 power points for a total of 19 power points. This would allow her to manifest energy barrage, with the metapsionic feat Maximize Power applied to it (11 + 4 = 15 power points) that she could not normally have manifested with the standard metapsionic cap of her manifester level (13 power points).
Editor (ALTERATIONS): The feat's examples were altered to reflect the changes in ML caps from 3.0 to 3.5.
Editor: GAH! Is it broken? It is over powered? In some reguards this is plain awesome, allowing you to exceed your ML PP cap. However, it is limited to energy only powers and only one specific energy type which you choose at the time you get the feat. The ability to increase ML cap on your powers is indeed game breaking. But limiting it to only direct damage powers that inflict energy damage means usually give the target the defense of Reflex saves, Power resistance, and energy resistance, which is one of the cheapest and easiers forms of defense to come by. I'm going to go with merely borderline game breaking. Used by itself, it's not a problem. Combined with a few other feats and PrC class features, it could be possible to break the game with some truly impressive Novas. DMs, keep an eye on it.
Editor (DM's corner): Are you playing with players who aren't that good? Let it slide. Are you plaing with true minmaxers with the number crunching power of a super computer? May I offer the following suggested limitations:
1. Only allow them to take this once. The numbers on it fit. +2 ML for a limited grouping of powers isn't that bad. Allowing them to buy it three times and have it stack is where the problem is.
2. Make it a +1 ML, but expand it to include all five energy types. A feat is often equal to a Class feature and there are many class features that do just that very thing. Add the additional prerequsite that you can only buy the second feat at ML 12th+ and the third a ML 18th+ and it works just fine.
3. Allow the player to buy it as many times as they want, but each time it applies to a different energy type. Personally, I believe this one would be the correct version of a 3.5 update. It's how all the other versions of 3.5 feats are handled. Normally there wold be Improved Psionice Energy infusion, and Greater Psionic Energy Infusion. Simply allowing you to buy it three times is a 3.0 throwback. So if you are going to play with this feat, this would be the editor's choice.
Whoops! Gotta go. I'll do more later. these are the ones that jump out.
