There've already been massive amounts of death threats, Trump is calling to shut down mosques, etc. etc.

I think this might just be the most amusing response I've seen on this thread. Two people annoyed at overexposure to something... followed by yet more of the same thing. :lmao

Cats hate citrus, and it will keep the mof stuff you don't want them on.

Also, doing their business somewhere other than their litter box is very abnormal and generally a sign of mental or physical problems.  Kitty is either stressed and upset by something, needs a vet visit, or both.  Cats are good at hiding when they aren't feeling well, and if she's  acting out now she's either upset and at wits end, or in pretty bad physical discomfort.

Please tell me you have similar tips for dogs with something that doesn't smell like the offspring of a fish and a hobo took a dump.

(We have similar issues here at home with our dogs. We bought this spray thingie that's supposed to keep them off, but it smells worse than their pee, and I have the most sensitive nose in the house, so I can smell it all the way to my room - which is three rooms away from the kitchen.)
Not a dog person, but I have friends who are, lemme ask about.

Okay they said much the same, either the dog has anxiety or medical issues like bladder problems.  The problem is that once he poos he will return there because it's marked with his scent.  You need to eradicate that scent and train him not to poo in the house.  For example buy doggy treats and give him one when you walk him outside to do his business, never give him one in the house.  He should learn the association.  Is it a young or old dog?

He's about... seven or eight, I think. He's had bladder problems, too, but so did an older dog of ours who knew better. Plus he's kind of a prick.

Might wanna get him checked.  Bladder stones are a common reason for dogs peeing.

After six years of forced patience and constant trying, it really shouldn't be as hard as it is.

Putting down a pet is always hard.

The wife's having a harder time of it than me. While it was technically her parent's cat at first she literally raised her from a kitten. Took her with her when she moved out on her own. From what I heard, she was pretty much the only one Luci was ever particularly nice to, up until the whole mess of the last six years. Mainly I think she blames herself for "not being a good enough parent" to find some other solution.

Sometimes there really isn't a better solution though.  :nonono

He's about... seven or eight, I think. He's had bladder problems, too, but so did an older dog of ours who knew better. Plus he's kind of a prick.

Sometimes it really does just come down to the animal's personality. I used to have a lab/border collie mix--sweet as can be, but way too clever for his own good and loved to push boundaries and mess with people. Sort of a prankster personality type.

Problem is, a dog lacks the cultural awareness to judge when something like, say, escaping from his room for the nth time despite all the new measures you took to keep him in there and eating the stone out of your wife's engagement ring might be going a smidge too far.

Ended up having to take him up to the in-laws ranch. He's much happier up there. And there's significantly less trouble he can get into.

If you can, I'd say consider building/getting a doghouse and keeping the dog outside. You'll still need to watch out for bombs on the lawn, but it's better than steaming your carpets all the time and getting fed up because you can't train him to be an "inside dog."

Might wanna get him checked.  Bladder stones are a common reason for dogs peeing.

Ditto on this though--always check for a medical or environmental reason first. Animals have a very limited number of ways to let you know something is wrong, and peeing on things they aren't supposed to is pretty much at the top of the list.

I saw a TV Vet pick up a dog with bladder stones,
squeeze him around the waste, then squeeze
some more right where guys would pass out,
plop plop, dog pees, and licks his master's face.
Everyones happy with sub $100 bill, problem solved.

 :smirk :devil

So then I showed the episode to my 70 year old Uncle, suffering the same prob as the dog.

Feeling really depressed today... Feel like i don't know exactly what i want/should do in life, and have absolutely no drive to do anything. All the partying is nice and alcohol helps fill the void, but it's all pretty fucking meaningless, and seems like today's the day i start feeling like that's the case. Fuck...

Our power went out last night.  For hours.  Came back after about 5-6 hours, this was 1 AM.  I get up early because I went to bed super early because of this.  Now my computer wont work.  This is after an Electronics lab in which everything just decided to not work.  The power goes out, now my computer won't work, I don't know what's wrong with it, this has been just awful the past 24 hours.  I got up early so I could go into Minecraft and fix things up before this afternoon when I stream it, but now I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to use this computer again.

If nothing else, you can always retake the class. Even if you've got some kind of financial aid that's based on academic performance, you generally get one mulligan so long as you jump through a few hoops and fill out some paperwork. Talk to an academic councilor at the school and at the financial aid desk, they should be able to point you in the right direction. Also check the school's academic policies regarding this stuff.

And don't be put off by wording in the rules that makes it sound like you've got to super convince somebody that you're worthy of another chance. I was in the same boat a while back and what I didn't realize at the time was that they basically rubber-stamp these requests so long as it's the first time and you go through the motions. I've seen people whose excuse was something like: "Well, I just got kinda bored and started skipping class." or "I just partied too much that semester." and they got a second chance, so you should be fine. Bring documentation like a not from your doctor/therapist if you've got it, but don't worry too much if you don't.

If anything, failing--rather than squeaking by with a low grade--might be a good thing because IIRC a law was passed that prevents students from retaking a class if they've already received a passing grade. I remember my into to engineering teacher telling us about that and advising us that if we thought we were falling behind in a class it might be better to intentionally fail so we could retake it and come out with a better GPA.

Also, I highly recommend visiting the student health center and making an appointment for counseling counseling. It is exceedingly common for college students to get overwhelmed and depressed, and if nothing else having documented visits to the councilor gives you something to back up your claims that you were having a hard time when you're trying to appeal.

I realize it's probably a bit late for this, but in the future go in early. The councilors tend to get swamped especially towards the end of a semester, and if you wait until you're actually having problems and feel like you need help the waiting list may be too long for you to actually get in. Better to start going to regular appointments before it becomes a problem that wait til you're having a total meltdown to try and navigate the bureaucracy.

And yes, definitely inquire about retaking the test as well when you talk to the academic councilor. Some schools have specific policies about things like that and many times teachers will try to do bypass academic policies they don't like. I actually had a teacher who openly refused to work with the department of disabled student services, which is a violation of federal law, to say nothing of school policy, and nobody but me tried to take it up with DSPS or any other authority on campus.

Point being, don't just take a failing grade lying down--especially if you've got a genuine excuse like illness or personal hardship. There are policies in place specifically to help people in your situation, but you've got to stand up and ask for it or they will let you just slink off in defeat while pocketing your tuition.

I went through a heavy drinking stage
and an old hand gave me this addage:

Don't drink to get drunk
Don't drink alone
Don't drink 2 nights in a row
(the bartender looked at him funny on that last one)

It's a start.  I was chatting with a guy and a girl.
Told this little 4 liner.  Didn't see them for a year.
Ran into the girl.  She said I saved the guy's life.
Got an unbelievably chaste kiss on the cheek, for it
... though I did make sure I washed my cheek when I got home.

I live in an apartment, so doghouse is not an option (we don't have a patio, either).

Mostly I think he's just being his prick self. They say people take after their owners, well, I must really love my sister because I can't picture her owning him...

I just engaged in the worst cooking I've ever done.

I actually managed to make one of my dinner plates explode.

Good thing that it was part of a set of 4, and that the set was from the thrift shop...
