Thank you everyone.  Bit by bit I'm working on things, but it's definitely hard...

I can't prove it, but I'm pretty sure my neighbor is beating his wife.   :(

Call the cops next time you think it's happening?

I agree with Nanshork, bhu.

I feel like I'm trying to avoid something, but I'm not sure what it is.

Whatever it is, it's distracting me something fierce - I'm not focusing or remembering as well as I should.

I'm guessing that bhu is seeing evidence after the fact (bruises or behavior), rather than in-progress. Otherwise, proof would be there.

No I can hear them through the walls.  I've asked the wife if she was okay and she told me to fuck off and die.

Yeah, next time you hear it, I say call the cops.  Though it can be hard especially in places like that if they aren't caught in the act...

Would be bad if they decided it's okay for these things to happen and just say you're falsely using 911...

There's also the possibility they're into S&M, though if that were the case the smart option would have been for the wife to clarify things when you approached her--rather than telling you to fuck off. The last thing someone in that situation wants is for the cops to bust down their door in the middle of their "fun", especially given how hard it can be to explain. That being said, people aren't always smart.

Did you hear what sounded like an argument, or just the sounds of someone being hit/crying out? If it sounded like an actual fight, calling the cops is probably a good idea.
A little madness goes a long way...

It sounded like an argument, with several impacts noises and her yelling "stop, you're hurting me".  She wasn't bruised when I saw her but she was walking like she was in pain, so perhaps they just weren't visible.  The noises stopped when mom hammered on the wall.  We've already made up our minds, if we hear it again we're calling, and if shit goes sideways so be it.

I wish YouTube would not default to, and include an alternative to, the 60 fps HD videos.  60 FPS isn't necessary nor is it noticeable for enjoyment.  So many videos have a 60fps 720p option, but the only downgrade is just a 480 resolution, which is noticeable.

I wish some of the LPers I watch had 720p on their vids - sometimes, it's impossible to read the text on the screen.

Because 360p is the way their older videos roll!

I've decided that, apparently, all LPers just want me to watch their LPs in a half-size window, and never fullscreen anything they post.

yeah....720p is a great screen resolution.  Which is why it sucks when people only have 60f on them, and not a 60/30 choice.

Man, I'm lucky if my internet can buffer 480, some days. I just have a quarter of my screen for the video, and the rest is here / other forums / facebook / etc.

Other than facebook, that shouldn't be all that bandwidth intensive.  FB did have an update a couple months ago that changed how it loads itself which I hate, because it's constantly eating bandwidth more than usual, but it's still not all that intensive.  Streaming video is the most intensive thing, aside from downloading a big file with no cap on the speed of course.  Nothing else is really all that intensive.

Oh, yeah. I more meant "it only loads @480, so I do less-intensive things on the rest of the screen".

Couldn't get out of bed today for class. Yaaaaaaaay depression.
