Aquatic Undead?
« on: September 25, 2015, 08:00:33 PM »
I'm looking for some sort of aquatic or swamp flavored undead (or a good template for them), preferably CR2 or below.

Anyone know where I could find some? This is a long shot but it'd be especially cool if they were something similar to the ghosts of the dead marshes in LOTR, where they have no power out of the water but can lure people in.

Classic CR1 zombie with at-will suggestion/minor image?

I recall a template along those lines, I think it was called the drowned one, or something like that. four seconds of google-fu didn't find it though

There's an aquatic version of a Ghoul

I might just use that thanks. Sure wish I could find some low level incorporeals though. Maybe I'll make an aquatic allip.

Dessicators from Libris Mortis maybe?

They're undead water elementals. Yeah.

Im really bad at what I do.

Being as they are incorporial and dont breathe, how is an aquatic allip different from a regular one? Incorporial undead work just as well underwater as they do on dry land.

Most undead specific to the water or swamps are fairly high CR.  I'd go with zombies or skeletons.

Good point, I guess I'm looking to find a way to apply "limited to movement in water only" along with a gaze attack or something to suggest wading in.

They're undead water elementals. Yeah.

I considered those. They're intended for deserts if I remember correctly though. Their need to drain moisture was from being dried out. If they were living in water I imagine their need to feed on the living would be largely negated.
