the guy running .net put up an email address, but as for PW, yeah, no idea. Geolocate puts him in the Netherlands, but there's no contact information listed.

I've been looking at spells on dndtools.net today since before you made this post until now, I'm not sure what that means.

Means whenever I was looking around the website, it threw up that error instead of a functional page. It appears to be back now, however.

I meant that I wasn't sure what it meant for the longterm status of the site, I understand database errors. :P

With the rumored changeover from BG, and the .pw being...less than ideal at this point, is this finally the time for a full scale integration of the .pw database into minmaxboards?

If so, feature request: Autocard-like functionality. [[Power Attack]] = Power Attack

Um...if on WordPress based boards, that can be integrated into something like the Easy Responsive Shortcodes plugin, only extending the living hell out of it.  I almost wonder if it would be more efficient to custom write it into functions.php as the board's own custom write-up function (and give it hover/tap modals w/ discreet print capability, or send to print function to line up multiples if someone wanted to make -actual- cards out of them).

That would present legal issues for MinMaxBoards and cause Wizards to have case to not just shutdown MMB's integrated dndtools (IF it were to happen) but also for them to be in the right in forcing MMB itself to be shutdown.

If they were hosted separately and "conveniently" had compatible API calls for things like this, it wouldn't be a legal issue, would it?

Only if hosted on a different server.

So basically only if the current dndtools was exactly as it currently is. Offsite and physically unconnected to these forums.

So how does one go about getting the current database?  I have the one that dndtools.eu posted for download on their homepage, but hopefully the current database has been updated since then.

Right, but someone having control of the site and able to make changes for more fluid use here on MMB

DokDorSpace.com seemingly has a DNDTools.pw mirror.

Yeah, but looking at the pages, they edited the data too heavily (the css is slightly broken, as they appear to have tried to remove too much), and it has no search functionality. I can do that on my own box with a ripped copy of pw's pages.
