I got interested in playing a mythical maid all of a sudden, and I noticed Lunar Dial hasn't really been...gone through yet. A lot of maneuvers are difficult to figure out so I'ma do this!
Clarification on Stop Watch: Does "any time as a free action" include when it is not your turn? As usually free actions are limited to being during your turn. Also, it says you can activate the Stop Watch effect of a maneuver during its duration, but what about maneuvers that don't have durations? Like a Standard action Strike or a Counter that does its effect immediately?
As well, can you cycle Stop Watch and the same stance every turn to gain a Stance's Stop Watch benefit every round without actually losing the Stance's benefit? Obviously at the cost of eating your Swift action every round but still.
Lunar Dial maneuvers need 5 knives per maneuver level to activate the maneuver, but not all maneuvers include multiple attacks. So despite throwing, say, 5 knives for a 1st level strike you're still only doing one attack and only one knife is doing damage, right? The other knives are just for show then? If correct, that does make the Gordian Knot feat feel a lot less OP because suddenly 45 +5 Vorpal daggers out of nowhere is initially kind of scary
Flowering Night is basically permanent party buff, yeah? I like it.
The tactical feat's 2nd option, "Sakuya's Special Stopwatch"; when it says the target(s)/area is affected as if by Flowering Night, does that mean the sacrificed Strike's intended targets are automatically afflicted with a chosen effect from the Flowering Night feat, permanently? Would this cancel out any previous Flowering Night effect you were already maintaining?
1st level Time Sign "Silver Acute 360"
- What do you mean by 5x5 area? 5ftx5ft (which is basically a single 5ft square) or 5 squares x 5 squares (which is a huge area for a 1st level maneuver)?
1st level Checkmaid
-Labeled Stance, but suppose to be a Strike?
1st level Misdirection
-When they roll what? A d20? Or when they roll any dice? Because that's a hilariously good maneuver if you can use it to reduce, say, a damage roll to zero
2nd level Time Sign "Private Vision"
-Clarify if this means ANY enemy you can detect, or just enemies detected within the range of the SeeInvis/Blindsight. Because an attacking against all enemies within sight at 2nd level is bonkers...
3rd level Sight of Distant Blade
-No problem here, just wanted to comment how funny it would be to use a Heal check to stabilize someone from 100 feet away by throwing a knife at them
. Cooler applications being Disable Device to break a trap from afar or unlocking a door by throwing knives at it, but still, this is a cool maneuver.
4th level Conjuring "Misdirection"
-Just to clarify, the cone has a 1 round duration? Its just the way it is currently read is that just the flat-footed effect has the 1 round duration.
5th level Propelling Silver
-1 turn or 1 round? Because 1 turn means the effect ends at the end of the turn of whichever enemy triggered this counter, which makes its effect of doing damage to people that come near you kind of ....not happen.
6th level Time Paradox
-Strike with Immediate action activation? Or is this a Counter? Also, it took a few readings to figure this one out because the word "you" was repeated
alot, haha.
6th level Watch "Luna Dial"
-Luna or Lunar? Strike with Swift activation? Also the Stop Watch effect references a Will save but the maneuver uses Reflex save.
7th level Conjuring "Illusional Misdirection"
-What if you don't have as many targets to attack as this maneuver grants extra attacks? Do you just lose those leftover attacks?
7th level Time Sign "Tunnel Effect"
-Strike with Swift activation? Also....I just can't read this maneuver's effect. It doesn't make sense and just looks like a jumbled mess of words, sorry Os
8th level Time Sign "Private Square"
-Stance with Immediate activation?
8th level Parallel Bane
-Most maneuvers that inflict Slow state the Slow lasts for 1 round, but this maneuver doesn't state a duration for the Slow.
8th level Silver Sign "Silver Bound"
- The Daze is mentioned to last 1 round, but does the maneuver itself last 1 round? It's implied by the part about any enemies entering the area but it's not directly stated.
9th level Deflation World
-What is the range? It's not stated, it just says attack everything in range.
Yanno, my absolute favorite thing about this school is how almost every maneuver, and even some stances, involve making an attack or counter attack so despite having probably low damage output per knife your small hits will stack up quickly. It's beautiful
