Any artists here?
« on: November 29, 2011, 06:16:59 PM »
I have a thread on GitP, and an inactive deviantArt account. I do pretty decent OotS-style avs - here's a pic from an IRC game I'm in:

As for "proper" art I'm not great, but I'm getting better... I think.

Anyone else like to draw? Got any works you want to show off?

Wow, Prime, that almost looks better than the comic! The avs are very reminiscent of their source!

I do some stuff, mostly fantasy. I stopped posting on dA a while ago because I have no access to a scanner.  :shakefist All the stuff there is much worse than what I do nowadays, but I'm still proud of a piece or two. (Click for larger views)
Drew a picture of Mirkwood I'm proud of.
I've done some metalworking
I attend the Middle Earth Festival every year.
I also used to be a Soul Calibur fanatic.
And, yes! I am an extremely white person!  :lol

I'm a freelance artist/animator, college trained with a BoFA in digital 2d animation. I've been working up the courage (and trying to build up something better than my several-years-old portfolio pieces) to submit to WotC and a few other places. Also looking for new places that'd be a good fit for my stuff, I tend towards the cartoonish/animated end of the style spectrum, but I can do realistic material too.

(Currently out of work, so if anybody has any suggestions..)

Well, Red, your stuff is well-drawn, and definitely sort of WotC style, but your colors are too well-defined and bright for them, in my opinion. The solid coloring makes it look too cartoony, but your style is right int there.

Submit something to them! The worst that happens is you get rejected... once.

I like to draw the PCs I play. They're always B&W.

These are from the last PC I played in a solo game, level 1 to 17. She's a human dread necromancer.  Part of her backstory involves her nearly becoming a vampire and getting staked, hence the scar on the chest.

Plain clothed:

"Costumed" (outfit heavily influenced from "the Symbol" in Cityscape):

Zombie tea party!

I might put up more, later.

The oots-ish stuff is quite the dish.

Isn't Zombies and the Tea Party kinda redundant ?
 ;)

Only time I ever did good art involved too much beer + snow ... (visualize it)
... but it was very ephemeral and my genius was lost to the multiverse.

Oh, so that's where you genius went! I always wondered why your kitty avatar seems to be the brains of the operation!

Most of my artwork is Fullmetal Alchemist transmutation circles with some random photoshop tidbits thrown in.  http://jackinthegreen.deviantart.com/

Maybe this is a better place to post this than the Touhou thread. (click to enlarge)

I would draw stick figures, but they'd totally come out crooked.

It really does make imaginary elves more realistic.
